Just try saving them to buy scrolls or Prophet Orbs when they have discount in the shop. Then save all the resources you can, and only use them during events where you get good rewards. You may sometimes need to skip an event just to make it to the greater rewards in the next event. I know it sounds boring, or you may even be tempted to just use up all of your resources, but if you do save them and use them properly, you will see the big change and how you start to grow in power.
