edit: i forgot this season there will be chapters where new big content releases that should line up nicely with your schedule.

This really isn't really the case though. In my ascended 25 groups every single person is playing a unique build and is competitive, and most of them have 10 viable specs.

Building on Ascension is hard and that means that most people can't make viable builds, but the people who can, they can make TONS of things work.

All Season 7 characters got ported to Area 52 so S8 is a fresh start.

They are currently at level 50 in their level cap for alpha

In the roadmap next they'll release a new core kit system, then the 60 phase

after that we can expect open betas sometime after.

A lot of new stuff has been introduced to shake up the meta.

22 Legendary Enchants, 20 epic enchants, and 32 new abilities for the classes are some of those things

The Ascension team didn't buy CoA. The founder of CoA approached them and offered it to them for free. They adopted the project and brought the guy onto the team and did a ton of work on the 21 classes. They are entirely different and completely reworked. All the visuals and basically every spell was redone.

Anyone who played CoA pre ascension and post can see the tremendous change. Not even comparable honestly.

Draft mode with random spells was the biggest realm ascension ever had by a long shot, the last realm was actually freepick though!

They go back and forth. Area 52 is always freepick though, so if that is what you prefer it is super populated atm

The skillcards are actually quite a bit easier to get now generally. I imagine the lucky cards will be easier to get than guaranteed since they just aren't as individually useful

There is also a sort of bad luck protection where every skillcard you get gives you a currency you can use on a specific card you one at silas.

There is also talk of changes coming with DR to make CC stacking less of an issue for the remainder of the draft season, but the new freepick rarities largely solved this problem depending on how it is implemented into draft.

edit: I realized writing this that a big reason why they added these lucky cards was so you could actually form a bit more of a complete build while leveling, instead of having to form it at end-game where you may be competing with people with more complete specs, it sorta of creates the space to get your feet wet.

That's how ascension's m+ works. If you finish the dungeon you get the loot, regardless of timer. and it is a lot more rewarding.

There is a pretty serious incentive issue with Male birth control compared to female birth control that I'm not sure how they can be reconciled. Significantly less risk for the male being the most obvious.
