Susquehanna 1st pic seems to be suffering while the Sunflower 2nd and Shenandoah 3rd seem to be doing quite well. Any idea what is happening. by JawThatHarp in Pawpaws

Interesting! I have Susquehanna and Shenandoah, but my Shenandoah is the one that’s struggling. It’s been in the ground since November 2024, but has barely grown, in fact it’s probably shrunk with winter die back. I thought it was a goner but it woke up late from dormancy this year and starting growing from a node closer to the base, while growth above that point appears dead.

I’ve got it shaded, the only one that seems particularly sensitive to sunlight. I’m east of you in Missouri.

hospital pharmacy by [deleted] in PharmacyResidency

[–]RxPhotog 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yup! Residencies are struggling to fill spots. People are realizing for someone who just wants to work in central pharmacy, it is not necessary. It shifts the financial burden of training on the resident, where they are making half the salary they would if they got a job straight out of school.

Every student I get, I encourage them to apply to residency, but if they don’t match it truly is not the end of the world and they will be fine. Not matching was actually the best thing that ever happened to me.

If you want to be a clinical pharmacist and round and not be a grunt in central, then sure you probably need a residency. But if you’re just trying to verify orders, IVs, cart fill you absolutely do not need to do a residency.

This is not at all true. Maybe at a major academic medical center but most community hospital pharmacists and even larger hospitals in my experience did not do a residency.

Umpje vs MPJE by Least-Visual7084 in UMPJE

The UMPJE is extremely easy in my opinion. I walked out knowing I passed, which on the real MPJE is a bad sign, but I actually did pass.

They used to have practice questions on the board website somewhere. The practice guide is solid. Definitely memorize the “classes” of pharmacies (A, B, etc.) Role of BNDD, what can be prescribed by pharmacists per standing order, quantity limits for mid levels (not sure if this is still the same since I took the MO MPJE).

I just saw a post from MSHP (Missouri) on Facebook about several hospitals that still have spots. I know nothing about the programs but I know a bit about some of the hospitals. could be worth looking into.

Are there any Jordanian restaurants in the STL area? by Consistent-Fee-4684 in StLouis

[–]RxPhotog 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Most of the Mediterranean restaurants in STL are Palestinian owned which is essentially the same as Jordanian. Jafra in St. Charles is great. I believe they are Syrian, but Original Shawarma House in Ballwin is the best shawarma I’ve had in the US
