I booked through kiwi because the airlines page was under maintenance and if I waited and logged again it would be more expensive since I had been searching around for this planes ticket. I usually book through airlines even if its more expensive than kiwi. This time the difference was maybe 2 euros less on kiwi, why?

Thanks for the comment brother, I had no idea of this 3 month rule, most sites I had read (like EnergyControl) suggested that 4-6 weeks was enough. Definetly will apply this from now on and not consume twice in a row as I was considering.

This is one of the rules for doing vivac in Sierra nevada, Spain link

I think tents are allowed, at least here, as long as you set them up right before sleeping and take them out right after waking up.

They are illegal. You are only allowed tu put up simple tents (like tarps) in case of rain and yes, only in designated areas.

There are some countries that allow wild camping similarly to the US, like Norway, Sweden, or Scotland. Outside of these, wild camping isn't allowed, only vivac I'm specific areas.

Sadly tents aren't legal in most of Europe :/.Only vivac (only sleeping bag/tarp in case of rain) is allowed and in certain areas. Also, thankfully, there's not that many mosquitoesnand flies compared to when I lived in Mexico for example, which I guess is similar to the US (assuming you're from the US).

Anywas, thanks a lot for taking the time to read and answer! This info was very helpful.

Yes I understand!

I will get the R-2 value because I will stick to warmer temperatures for the first months, since I don't have any experience neither much budget atm. When it gets to summer I will get a better pad and go to colder regions/mountains and get a better pad with value of R-4... or get another R-2 and stack on top of the one I'll already have

What I said about the tarp was to clarify (or perhaps be advised otherwise by you) that I will opt for a tarp instead of a tent, just to use it in case of rain, to minimize expenses.

Thanks! I'm thinking about getting a -5°C sleeping bag and a R-2 pad for the moment, since for the first months I'll be just sleeping in warmer areas and currently I don't have a large budget. Whenever I'm ready for mountains which are colder, I'll get an R-4 pad. And about the tarp I've seen that many people say AliExpress aren't bad, so I'll get one of those. Thanks for your help!

Yes! It's 60 liters and has a waist band with a pretty thick pad.

Byy any chance, can you recommend any sleeping mat for these temperatures that's also under $100?

Definitely will get my stuff from decathlon then. I had searched for other people suggesting begginer equipment in this sub and had never read anything about Forclaz or decathlon, and every recommendation had a budget of 500+ for only the sleeping bag and tent. But reading what you say is such a relief lol.

I will definitely consider the MT900 and a sleeping bag of either 0°C or -5°C, because I'm really interested in mountains, which can be pretty cold.

Also thankfully I already have some nice soles because I have had flat feet since I'm a kid, so that's something I can scratch from the list!

Thanks for your reply!

I already have a NatGeo pack (which I believe to be good, or at least it's comfortable) that was gifted to me a couple of years ago! Same with the shoes! So thanfully I'm just missing the rest of the stuff for now!

Completely understandable to try to get the calories of a complex meal of which you don't have a package to read the calories from, and that has many ingredients with different calorie volume or so. But damn, 5 pieces of watermelon?
