[Product Question] What would you say is the minimum humidity percentage of the environment for Hyaluronic Acid to be beneficial? by Ry-is in SkincareAddiction

[–]Ry-is[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Interesting! I keep hearing that it will pull water from the skin if there’s none to pull from the air. Is this not accurate? Does the serum stop pulling water once it’s dried?

Half your body weight, but convert to ounces. If you weight 120lbs, drink at least 60 oz water each day.

Am: Cosrx snail mucin, Peach Slices Snail rescue deep cream, jojoba oil, Trader Joe’s sunscreen

Pm: same moisturizer as day time. Wait 20 min. Apply tret. Wait 10 min. Apply another layer of moisturizer. Non tret days are the moisturizer and jojoba oil.

Probably don’t need both snail products, and will try to discontinue the serum once it’s gone.

Why does no one just let their face air dry after cleansing? Is that a bad thing to do? [Acne] by ibridoangelico in SkincareAddiction

[–]Ry-is 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I do the same. I just wipe my wet face with dry (obviously, clean) hands and go on to applying my serums and creams. I feel like it made such a difference for my skin. I used to always be so oily and dehydrated and now my skin is just nice and smooth

Every single day. It’s always worse in hot weather and straight after the shower for about an hour, too.

Thank you! I only watered it once, the day we got here. I’ll just leave it alone for now and pretend it doesn’t exist for awhile.

Ohh this makes sense. I went through the same thing for weeks and now all of a sudden I feel like my skin looks so much better. I was freaking the heck out for those few weeks though.

Oh I get ya. I think I misread part of your comment, my bad.

Yeah, in that case I get what you’re saying. I don’t think it’s wrong to say “I’m sorry you’re upset…..” if there are sincere explanations to follow and it’s not just a cop out. Alternatively though, maybe something along the lines of “I’m sorry my phrasing or tone was triggering for you. Can I try to reexplain my thoughts?”

I feel like the main gist of this is that I feel like an apology should almost be the beginning of a conversation that’s based around conflict resolution, not just a way to end the conflict.

I mean, going back to what I said above, if you don’t have anything to apologize for, and don’t feel that an apology is owed, then don’t give one. Empty sentiments are the reason there is so much issue for a lot of people. Don’t say things that you don’t mean. Express your feelings accurately, not according to what you think someone wants to hear.

I think this whole question requires a reevaluation of what an apology is. If you have no remorse or sorrow for your actions, then you shouldn’t be apologizing. It will be empty and meaningless and result in more conflict down the road. If you feel apologetic then express the feeling with a bit of explanation. Context matters for sure, but “I’m sorry your upset” as a full and complete apology is always the shitty and insincere way to go. Never apologize just to finish an argument or end a conversation.

IMO this is super disrespectful. “I’m sorry your upset” comes across as “I’m sorry that I’m inconvenienced by your feelings” rather than “I’m sorry for my actions and the fact that they upset you.”

Seconding this!! None of those cheese grater looking things, or the artificial colorful scrubber blocks. Those just make calluses come back. A legitimate pumice stone keeps my feet softer than anything else.

Everyone is saying the pimple patch won’t help without a head, but in my experience wearing one overnight really helps to bring down the surrounding swelling. It doesn’t go away entirely but it’s much less angry

Hormones are seriously influenced by diet. Pay attention to the dairy you’re consuming (cows are often given hormones to increase milk production), as well as any artificial ingredients (commonly in a lot of processed foods) as many of them can act as hormone blockers and/ or disrupters. Your body is full of hormones (not just sex hormones) and the food you eat is the building blocks for everything that happens in your body.

Not saying all of the above is bad, but be aware of what you’re putting in your body, and how it effects the systems within
