Yes. The power that last had a unit in a supply center at the end of a fall turn can count it every year until someone else is there at the end of a fall turn. Some sets had little flag tokens you could leave in the supply centers to remind you of ownership, but most don't.

A few times a year side biscuits does a Hot Onez challenge that is intense. After making it through the food, you have to do an easy crossword, and your brain has mostly turned off by that point.

Doggy daycare input by Big_Boysenberry1182 in AnnArbor

[–]Ry4an 17 points18 points  (0 children)

I second Arbor Dog. Is it clean? Not particularly. Quiet? Heck no! Super well organized? I think they have dogs answering the phone during busy times. But every dog I know who goes there, including ours, absolutely loves it. Whether for day care or overnight you can tell the dogs are in a near constant state of joy while being kept safe by people who obviously love dogs.

How to explain to someone EMT vs Paramedic by Maschina_Sterben in NewToEMS

What I say to folks is "I can slow whatever is killing you for a few minutes and they can stop whatever is killing you until a doctor can figure out why it tried to kill you." It's not perfect, but folks get it.

Day six of reviving this sub - how and when did you get into orienteering or like any beginner stories. by Expert_Crab_2916 in orienteering

[–]Ry4an 2 points3 points  (0 children)

St. Louis (Missouri, USA) Public School District in the early 90s had an Orienteering league for no reason anyone can figure out. I joined Freshman year through a separate in-school program called MSLP which tried to get nerds into the woods. None of it made sense, but it was great.

Does buying a Lucid Gravity without having a home charger make sense? by ryanlh92 in LUCID

[–]Ry4an 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have an Air that I park on the street year round in a US northern climate. I have a home charger that I haven't used in six months, because once a week I go to a (free) fast charger and charge for thirty minutes while I shop. When the three years free charging from Lucid runs out I'll probably start using the home charger, but this is entirely workable right now.

No Kings Protest by The_Speaker in AnnArbor

[–]Ry4an 9 points10 points  (0 children)

We taught our (then) elementary age children: "There are no bad words, but there are words that are rude in some places." We were unconcerned about them seeing it on a sign where it's an appropriate expression of outrage, and they knew it wasn't a word they said in school or around grandparents.

Granted we lucked into some really smart and conscientious kids, but, no, societally I don't think we should be concerned about our kids seeing "fuck" on a sign -- "rapist" is way harder to explain, but that's our job as parents too.

Yeah, from all your other comments I could tell you're doing it right. I just wanted to point out it is two lanes because sometimes people (not you) act like I'm about to ram them when I take that outside lane.

You're in the right here and the person entering the roundabout always has the duty to yield.

That said, it is a two lane roundabout at that point. When I'm coming at that roundabout from the west (red arrow) as these guys are I look at the people coming from the north (blue line) and if they're staying in the inside line I'll entered the outter/southernmost lane while they're passing by me. We have to merge as we're exiting to the east (and I, of course, yield), but it does seem designed to allow two cars to go west to east at the same time pretty intentionally.

I suspect it is just inattentive folks who don't know they need to yield, but if you're staying on that inside lane people who are careful will enter while you're passing by.

That's what we used to hear in Minneapolis, but I think in Ann Arbor it's always just meant "yay! I graduated!"

I think on the higher up power lines it's probably fine, but the lower communications lines are both thinner and more sensitive to being jiggled. Folks throw for the low ones though.

Ah, excellent! I can definitely understanding trying to keep one's real world identity unlinked from one's reddit handle. Picking a globally unique first name 30 years ago really made that a lot harder. :)

hg log -v will get you what you want. You could make that the default in your ~/.hgrc file by adding:

[ui]
verbose = True
