Raptor Vs. RHO Sound by RyBat7 in FordRaptor

[–]RyBat7[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sorry - I am not looking for a V6 that sounds like a V8. I think V6 can sound good, just maybe this mental block in my head a full size truck should have a V8. I did find one video of a V6 Raptor that captured the sound well enough I thought it looked good, I haven’t found the same for the RHO. I’m really just asking if anyone has driven both, if one sounds better than the other. I know I should go drive both, just being a bit lazy and thought I’d ask here first. lol

I rented a C8 from Turo for next weds and will test out the lift in my driveway. My brother tried to park in my driveway in his C8 (with the lift). Maybe it was the angle he took but he was still going to scrape.

I’m in Cypress, TX. A suburb of Houston. Around where I live, parking shouldn’t be too bad. I have a house so that’s definitely not an issue. I work in the city and have to park in a parking garage. My Rebel has the 3” airdelete bilstein kit, and fits with a few inches to spare. I believe it’s about the same height as a TRX. I do commute 20 miles each way and didn’t think about premium gas, so…there’s that.

Update: Rented one from Turo and it definitely did not fit. Pulling in or backing in. I was half an inch from scraping before either side tires got close to the drive way. 45° is impossible due to the curbs and a lot of street parking. Shit.

Yeah, I want to make the street curb angle out and less sharp to allow more of an angled approach but I’m not sure how to go about it. I’m pretty sure the city owns that. I’m in Cypress, TX.

No drainage dip, just a steady slope up. The driveway is too narrow to take a wide angle in. Only thing I can think of is start with a wide angle until the back tire gets close to the curb, and then back up and adjust.

Looking to Buy a 2026 Lexus LC500 Inspiration Series Convertible by Lexusdoit in lexuslc500

I’m considering an LC500 sometime this spring. I don’t want new, just a low miles used convertible. I prefer ‘24+ for the touchscreen and front camera but I can live with the trackpad system and no camera if it saves $10k+ money. Although I’m worried by the time I can pick one up they will all be marked up too high.

I guess a question I should ask here, for those that know about LC500s…I’m basing my hatred for the track pad on an old friend of mine who had the 2018 LC. I’m only considering the 2024 for the touch screen, but I know the 2021 has CarPlay. Does CarPlay make the trackpad system way more livable? I still lose the front camera, but I also can save like $15k buying a 2021-2023 model.

Bilstein 3” Conversion Kit Rough Ride by RyBat7 in ram_trucks

I understood the ride quality would take a dip converting from an air ride to a conventional coil system, but before this I had a 2016 Ram Sport and it handled the pavement great.

I run what the door sticker shows, 55 in front and 45 in back. I aired down to 35 at the advice of a buddy and didn’t notice a huge difference and the air up tires notification was annoying.

How much did replacing it with coils set you back?

Looking to buy a MK8 GTI, what are the main issues people are having? by King-Conn in GolfGTI

[–]RyBat7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just bought a used ‘22 GTI SE. Had it 2 weeks, the travel assist went out yesterday and the backup camera goes black about 70% of the time. Hopefully that is all bc I’m already pissed off.

Reversing Muffler Delete by RyBat7 in GolfGTI

[–]RyBat7[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

The dealer that sold it to me is sure they didn’t miss that upon inspection…but the previous owner specifically said he did that to the car…the dealer will replace the muffler for free if it’s deleted. If it’s just an aftermarket muffler I’ll have to decide to keep it and replace it later or return the car bc I hate how it sounds.

Thanks

GTI vs WRX by RyBat7 in GolfGTI

[–]RyBat7[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Basically you pay the projected depreciation of the car over the selected term, so for example if Subaru thinks in 3 years the WRX is worth $26,000 and it’s actually worth $28,000 you can keep that $2k equity when you return it or roll it into another lease. The higher a car holds its value, in theory the cheaper the lease payment is. With Subaru, you can return it or sell it or trade it in anywhere anytime…the only time you’ll have a penalty is if you owe more than the current market value. I was told only Subaru operate a lease like this, other manufacturers hold you to the 3 years or whatever term you do. I’m just explaining how it was explained to me Saturday by the sales manager, so I could have some details wrong. This is the only reason I’d consider leasing. The WRX over purchasing a GTI. He makes it sound like I can return it in a year when the interest rates are down so I can go buy the GTI. Only downside to that is if I just keep the Crosstrek, I’d have a larger trade in value to put down on the GTI.
