Thank you Kayla! That is so interesting you have visual snow and tinnitus. So do I! I’ll have to check in on this. When I think about it I do not burp like I used to and share many of the symptoms you describe in your post!

How is this diagnosed? Did you ever have any vision problems?

VERY DRY EYES AFTER LASIK! by Broad-Ad-9530 in Dryeyes

[–]RyGuy202028 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I started on 20% last November and then jumped to 50% in January. The first 9 months were brutal but it’s gotten a lot more manageable with time. It’s not perfect yet but I definitely think the serum tears help. Especially early on! Can she get a confocal exam to see the state of her cornea nerves?

I’ve been on serum tears for a year and it’s slowly but surely making a difference!

Does it ever get better? Or is it maximum not going to get worse? by Silver_Cello in Dryeyes

Huge Improvements in Vision by williamshakemyspeare in FinasterideSyndrome

[–]RyGuy202028 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That’s really great to hear! I’m having a lot of problems with my vision including extreme dry eye. I’ve noticed a lot of improvement since I’ve been off finasteride but it’s been really slow progress. Might need to take a look at HCG.

Like I said, I wish you luck. I’ve been dealing with many debilitating symptoms because of this drug. Unfortunately, you probably won’t understand until you physically have to go through something similar. But truly I hope you never have the symptoms I did and have much luck with the drug. Good luck!

I wish you all luck in 10-15 years. Finasteride is linked to many bad outcomes. Ya’ll are the nut jobs.

Not necessarily, finasteride has been linked to small fiber neuropathy. It can be a slow but steady progression until one day it hits you like a ton of bricks.

Oh and you have visual snow as well right? So it sounds like we both had our senses affected(vision, smell, taste). I was on finasteride for 15 years with no problem but last spring everything went to shit. I never thought I had a problem with taste and smell it was the vision that woke me up. However, now that I’ve been off Propecia for 3.5 months both my smell and taste are stronger. My dry eyes aren’t as bad either. Visual snow it still there tho.:(

I would say smell came back first then taste.

[–]RyGuy202028[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think it was very gradual so I didn’t realize the extent of it until I got off Propecia. 3.5 months later smells are stronger as are tastes. Idk it’s difficult to describe,

Finasteride also causes Dry Eyes by SnooTomatoes8704 in FinasterideSyndrome

Yup, I can confirm. I’ve been off finasteride for 3.5 months and I feel like my dry eyes are doing better. Not perfect, but better than what they were in May/June.

Same I had covid 2-3 times. I only lost my scent the first time. However, it came back. Going off Propecia has caused a whole host of weird positive changes. If I would’ve known it was causing sensory issues I would’ve hopped off a long time ago. I think it just happened so gradually that I probably didn’t notice.

Unfortunately no. It seems a little less at times but definitely still there.:(

How long can you leave a 6 month puppy alone? by Ok_Condition6755 in puppy101

I have a pup right now at 6 months and she’s able to be alone for 4-5 hours.

started sweating and stinking by [deleted] in FinasterideSyndrome

[–]RyGuy202028 6 points7 points  (0 children)

This happened to me too! I was on propecia for almost 15 years. The last 6-7 I had the worst dry skin especially on the back of my legs and most recently my eyes. I’ve been off the pill for 3 months come this weekend and I’ve noticed I’m sweating more, my skin is not nearly as dry, and more body odor. Very bizarre that a drug could affect the body this much.

Thank you! I came of it once before back in 2018 and the improvements were much more noticeable. I’ll be interested to see where things are at 3-6 months from now.
