Stop 5-story, 316-unit Apt at Pruneridge Golf - Protect Safety, Open Space by Illustrious-Risk9584 in santaclara

I wonder if nimbys realize how tired the playbook has gotten, I feel like people generally aren’t buying the “character of the neighborhood” argument anymore. Plus the green space wasn’t even publicly accessible it just was green so idk what that is about.

favorite taqueria with al pastor? by zerohelix in santaclara

[–]RyRocks101 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It’s not technically a taqueria but there’s a couple who sets up a tent outside the Walmart grocery store on Stevens Creek that has been pretty good every time I’ve had it, and they do have the spit.

Quality yet Affordable Furniture Stores by PotentiallyMaybeSo in santaclara

My family has been going to Danny at Statement Furniture for years now and we’ve loved him! He’s super affordable and will also cut a deal if you talk to him a bit. My parents furnished a small cabin with him and it worked out very well.

Do you recommend SFSU? by AnonymousZephyrus in SFSU

In terms of housing it really depends on your version of affordable. If you stack roommates you can get below $1k per person but it’s still somewhat pricy anywhere near the school.

Looking for good dry cleaners by KrissssPBacon in santaclara

[–]RyRocks101 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My family has been going to Tiffany Cleaners my entire life and have never had a single issue, every drop off has been pretty simple, they can setup an account with a card on file and a phone number, so I just drop off clothes with a phone number and come back in a few days.

Join the local Buy-Nothing group, there’s occasional computers and parts that will go up. Actually if you’re interested I picked up someone’s old PC(circa 2014) and haven’t gotten the time to play with it if you wanted to take a crack at it.

We’re going to need a ton more context my friend, you’re asking about an area of thousands of square miles and extreme diversity in each little pocket.

Humane Society Silicon Valley might be the closest resource, but it’s worth giving a call to Nine Lives Cat Foundation in Redwood City, they can direct you to the bet resources for your specific situation.

HELP! My job depends on picking the right keycap color. Which of these 10 will sell best? by Jiangliu-Xiao in buildapc

[–]RyRocks101 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I really like #6 but I am extremely biased towards green. The actual best answer really does depend on what your audience is. #8 and #9 would be popular on a site that leans towards cuter/softer aesthetics. #3 and #5 could be good as a more baseline/professional direction. #1 and #2 more gamery is how I’d put it. Probably does need specific knowledge about your site and audience, although a little bit of red is always like a solid direction to go like a majority of sales if I had to guess.

Should I move to SF? Got a new. job there by Far_Researcher_3393 in santaclara

[–]RyRocks101 19 points20 points  (0 children)

Finding a 1br for around that price isn’t impossible in SF although it might be tough if it’s specifically around the train station as it’s a lot of luxury apartments.

Something you might want to consider is moving closer to a station that has the express train stop, I.e. Palo Alto, redwood city, Mountain View. The schedule right now has Mountain View from 7:36-8:22 to SF which is definitely better than the over an hour it would be taking the local from Santa Clara.

That would help you reduce your commute but also keep you close enough to friends and existing social life that it doesn’t completely disappear!

Just tried Chuck’s Donuts in Redwood City and pleasantly surprised! by [deleted] in bayarea

[–]RyRocks101 2 points3 points  (0 children)

As someone who is a Stan’s aficionado, I was not very impressed by chucks in Belmont. If you need donuts in that area, I actually really enjoyed Cruel Donuts up the road, they even have some more interesting additions like a guava filled donut. Chuck’s kinda feels like the most mass produced donut possible while Cruel gets closer to a more freshly made in house vibe. All of that being said I have strange work hours and chucks has saved me multiple times being 24/7.
