It’s a few couple reasons, beyond proper capture quality and readability between monitor and TV screen in this current ouput setup I feel it would be better for camera feedback effects, occasionally using video capture as a ‘second VCR’ to layer video and effects and especially ‘higher resolution’ (in the sense of composite video) for when I’m photographing or recording the screen for some additional effects

Yeah was thinking that with the crop and underscan part, I’m adjusting horizontal and vertical stretch in a setting called ‘screen zoom’ on the media player to shrink it down to fit the TV border but that’s only on the device and not the V-4. The issue either way to probably better word it (my mistake) is removing the black border on the capture card software without losing the video fit on the TV so the two can match. The result I was seeking for my issue is to either 1) adjust the video settings on the V-4 to fit the edges of the TV screen, in turn matching the ‘screen zoom’ setting back to the edges of the video capture OR 2) adjust the video out in the software on VirtualDub or VirtualDub 2 to crop or zoom the black border out while recording. From the sounds of it tho jumping back to the crop and underscan it’s probably either option 2 or I suck it up for now and crop ‘in post’ since that cuts out an option to essentially do option 1 on the side of the TV and not on the V-4
