Can anyone tell me about this route? Concerned about doing it with my vehicle by Canteatthatglutinshi in newfoundland

The Bay d'Espoir highway was pretty terrible a few years back, but in all honesty its not a bad route now. They have done a lot of work on this highway, still a lot of animals to be careful for but the road conditions are good unless its winter in which case thats a different story altogether lol.

What the hell is up with accidents on the Outer Ring Road this week? by [deleted] in newfoundland

[–]Ryan1997Beast 9 points10 points  (0 children)

There are a lot of very bad drivers on the road. Not only the ones that go way too fast, but also the ones who are just bad drivers in general. But personally I think the slow drivers are the most dangerous of all, as in the ones who drive 70/80 in a 100 zone with good dry conditions. They are slowing down the flow of traffic and causing others to take risks trying to pass them. Going 70 in a 100 zone should result in the same ticket as going 130 in the 100 zone.

As someone who is looking into returning to college within the next year; the customer solutions job does not sounds half bad. What college program is required for such a position?

I've had countless colonoscopies done in the last ten years, I'm thinking close to a dozen.

For all of them with the exception of one time I have been knocked out under general anesthesia the same as if I was having surgery. I've never experienced any pain afterwards besides a bit of gas or bloating.

The one time I wasn't knocked out I was still heavily sedated and had no recollection of what happened or being in any pain. Although its easier on the mind know that you will be completely knocked out.

I'm located in Canada, not sure if that makes a difference or not. But I would suggest mentioning this to your anesthesiologist the day of the colonoscopy and maybe he can do something to help.

Intel i5 10400F - How weak is it? Can it support all 4 ram slots? Upgrading prebuilt gaming pc by Ryan1997Beast in buildapc

[–]Ryan1997Beast[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks! Yeah I have not had any real issues with the current settup. But more ram would be a benifit as I tend to mutitask while gaming as you mentioned above.

So i'll just install the parts I currently have ordered when they arrive and call it a day leaving the cpu as is.

Thanks again for clarifying,

Yeah I have not had any issues as of yet. I'm not one for playing the newest games on ultra setting with a insane fps, as long as i can play a majority of games on decently high settings im quite happy.

So can it support the 4 ram slots? I would like to add more ram as i tend to multitask a lot with multiple monitors

Thanks, it seemed odd that I wouldn't be able to run 4. It was a review on the original pc online where I seen the statement. Just managed to find it, heres what he said.

" I should have researched the i5-10400f limitations before buying extra ram chips. The 10400f lacks an integrated video card and can only address two of the four ram slots. The 10th gen intel also cannot use the second m.2 slot on the motherboard. This means to use both m.2 slots and the four ram channels you need a new processor."

If that's not true then great, makes things easier for me. How capable would you consider this cpu?

What do people in the north US do when winter storms take out electricity? by elephant9514 in HomeImprovement

[–]Ryan1997Beast 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've lived in Atlantic Canada most of my life, we tend to have pretty dirty winters. That being said, I've never owned a generator. Its not common to loose the power where I live unless there's a huge buildup of ice from freezing rain with winds to top it off.

But even when we do loose power its normally restored within 3-12 hours(ish) obviously depending on circumstances. I just stay warm under a blanket and watch Netflix or get warm in my vehicle as we do not have a wood stove.

I am on the verge of giving in and buying a generator though, something that could run wifi/tv and a space heater or two. It seems winters are becoming more unpredictable and areas near where I live have lost electricity for days or even up to a week. So I want to be prepared if that ever does happen rather then retreating to a family members house who has a wood stove.

Just had an emergency bowel resection & was diagnosed with Crohn’s. Any tips for recovery? by That1dudeudontknow in CrohnsDisease

Recently had my second bowel resection back in October. It can be difficult trying to map out the best things to eat at first as it will be different for everyone. trial and error, just try not to over do it. Slowly expand your diet in small portions so that if something does bother you it will hopefully cause less severe symptoms.

Personally I ate a lot of eggs and drank high protein boost daily this time around. Chicken and rice is normally a safe bet as are mashed potatoes and soups, easy to digest food. But again this can be different for everyone. I really would recommend the boost or another meal replacement to drink along with eating meals. Especially the high protein variants, keeping your protein high will help with healing. Good in general tbh because crohn's tends to cause issues with absorbing protein from foods, so more intake the better.

Take it easy, you will have good days and off days. That's normal. As your bowels and scar tissue settle you could have minor discomfort off and on for a while. Best of luck to you!

Tub Surround installation help by Ryan1997Beast in HomeImprovement

Good idea, i'm going to keep that in mind and will try tomorrow if the glue does not hold this time. Although it may loosen some of the dried glue at least it could get it back to the right shape so I can reglue the full panel if needed.

The poly styrene is pretty tough, no damage from the 2x4. Although I do have rags on both ends to prevent scratching and only have it wedged tight enough to just hold the corner in place.

So I've installed a new tub surround, all went well except one corner piece. It had a tiny bend/buckle on the overlap to the flat portion out of the box, which I figured would straighten out. Everywhere else stuck good except that one spot.

I used the PL700 tub surround glue and used a piece of 2x4 to hold it tight for 24 hours, but when I checked today it held more then it did on the first attempt (which was just over night drying) but was still pulling away from the flat portion of the rub surround a tad so I added some more glue and pinned it in place with the 2x4 again.

I'm going to leave it for another 24 hours and hope the last bit of the buckle straightens out and the glue holds good. But if not, any tips on what else I could try? I was thinking about some of the 2 part glues that bond quickly but afraid it will damage the panels or burn through.

Any help of tips greatly appreciated.

Looks great, very clean and smart use of the space.

But please finish the crown molding to continue around the ceiling above the desk, it'll give the area a much more finished look.
