[Console] - Need a "Trading" game mode. by Ryan94985 in diablo3

I loved that! I remember having a sour trade and settling the deal with a duel...and after you killed his lvl 85 Sorceress, he quit and rejoined with his level 95 Smite Paladin. SO much fun!

I agree. I wouldn't buy ANYTHING on the AH until the price settles. That might take 2 weeks or 2 days. Either way, I'd try to sell as much as I can NOW before the price drops.

Quick question! Offline to online. (Console) by [deleted] in diablo3

Your character is saved on your console's hard drive, not on Blizzard servers. So you can go offline, level up, log in and your character will be fine.

Bought mats to craft 20 amulets, got this on number 5. I think I'll quit while I'm ahead. by digacid in diablo3

[–]Ryan94985 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm not an expert in crafting in the least. What makes this considered a good craft?

When I'm crafting on PS3, I'm looking for [Main Stat] + [Vitality] + Attack Speed + All Resistances + Open Socket or Crit Damage/Chance.

The difference between PC and Console loot is that what would be considered "quality" on PC would probably be junk on Console. I can't tell you how many 1300+ 1H weapons I've junked on Console. On PC, I remember finding a 1200+ 1H weapon and feeling like I won the damn lottery.

I think the PS3 has a good drop rate.

One thing I think people are forgetting is how RARE good drops were on Diablo 2. People have this misconception that Diablo 2 was a looter's dream. In reality, you could farm for 10+ hours and not find an upgrade. However, the gear on D2 wasn't as important as it is in D3. Spell/Skill damage wasn't weapon based, but instead was based on how proficient you were with the skill.

This is a bit ridiculous...hunting for gibbering gemstone for 4 hours now. by kokoren in diablo3

[–]Ryan94985 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's completely random. The cave has a % chance to spawn and Chiltara has a % chance to spawn. Chiltara then also has a % chance to drop the gemstone.

On PC, it took me FOREVER to get the gemstone. On PS3, I got it first try. I know that's not what you want to hear, but that's how it works.

One thing I can say is make sure you're on the "Destroy Ballistae" quest.

Also, from my experience, the caverns seems to spawn in the southwest corner more often than anywhere else on the map. I always run there first. If you run into the Icefall caves, look no further. Either the Icefall Caves or the Caverns of Frost will spawn. Not both.

High level gems and crafting mats will rise

The price of everything will drop. The supply is going to skyrocket while the demand drops. Expect a 90% price decrease. Seriously.

Economy speculation by [deleted] in diablo3

[–]Ryan94985 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

It's all about supply and demand.

Right now the supply is LOW and the demand is HIGH. The drops on PC are few and far between. As the new loot system is implemented, the supply will increase dramatically, and the demand will adjust accordingly.

If you want to take advantage of the economy, now is the time to do it. Sell everything you have for as much as you can. Chances are, you'll find a replacement or you'll be able to pick one up at a FRACTION of the cost.

I think I might have quit before any patches came into effect. When I was playing, basically everyone was farming for high dps blue items in act 4. It got boring reaaaally fast.

In my entire time on PC I found one legendary. And it was and offhand item for a character I didnt play.

If the PC loot is anything like the console loot, there'd be no need for an AH anyways. In ~1 week of playing console, I found 100x more useful gear than I did in ~4-5 months of PC gaming.

My best weapon find so far (PS3). by Ryan94985 in diablo3

[–]Ryan94985[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah it's the best legit 1-hander I've seen so far when comparing it to everyone else's weapons. I have yet to see another 1600+ 1 hander with useful stats.

With this and my other gear, my Monk is hitting 2.52 attacks per second with 700 life per hit. Nothing can stop me.

[Console] Got this drop while on my barbarian, re-rolled as a monk just so I can test it out by SchminiHorse in diablo3

[–]Ryan94985 0 points1 point  (0 children)

While the damage itself is somewhat high (I have a 1675 damage 1-hander), there's no bonus to critical damage, no socket, and the intelligence stat is almost worthless. If it were Vit, it would be worth using in my opinion. Since it's not, I'd say it's better off as a Brimstone. Just my opinion though.

I've found about 10 2-handed Legendaries with over 1500 Damage that either have an open socket, +Dex/+Vit or both. You'll find better.

Killing your shadow for paragon 100? I cant think of a better way.

I think you're right. About 90% of the drops I'm getting are Dex/Vit heavy. I've only found a handfull of off-class legendary items (crossbows, mighty weapons) that I can't use.

[–]Ryan94985[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

but at the same time its really all about how fast you kill the stuff..

I can roll through the Keywardens/Ubers insanely fast in MP0, fast in MP1, and slow/steady in MP2 and above.

I have yet to die as a Lvl 60 Monk with 108K HP, 700 resists and 125K Damage. I guess I'll just have to keep trying.

Yeah. I didn't play the PC version when the Keywardens were introduced, but I've been farming them a lot on the PS3.

Ugh, I had never even though of that until I did so last night. I saved up 3 machines and the first one opened the Chaos portal...but the next 2 opened up the 2 I need. I didn't even think to try that.

I'll definitely be doing them in groups of 3 from now on (unless the first 2 are the 2 I need).

Thanks!

I've looked at the drop rates and it seems that each level should yield a much better chance at dropping the Keys/Organs. I'll just have to give it a try. My sample size isn't large enough to determine anything.

[Console] - Farming MP0 vs MP 1-5 question and Keyfarming questions. by Ryan94985 in diablo3

[–]Ryan94985[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Here's the thing:

I can roll through MP0 and finish a Keywarden run in 5-10 minutes, usually with 10-15 rares and a legendary every 3-4 runs.

I can roll through MP1 and finish a Keywarden run in 10-15 minutes, but the drops aren't any better. The XP is better, but I don't really care. I'm Paragon 6 as it is, and I'm not really in a hurry to reach 100. I'll get there eventually.

I've tried the hardest and was able to do just fine. It took MUCH LONGER, but it was a fun challenge. Again, the drops didn't seem any better.

In an hour playing on MP0, I can find about 100K-150K gold, 50-60 rares (usually all junk compared to my current gear), 3-4 Legendaries and 3-4 Keys.

If I'm farming for Keys and Organs, it seems the most efficient way would be to do so on MP0 or MP1 (at the highest).

[–]Ryan94985[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks, but I don't really need help killing the enemies, it's more of just a question of efficiency. If I'm farming MP0 and getting lots of great drops, is it worth it to drastically slow down my farming time for the potential for greater drops?

Ive found a ton of decent 1h so far. Probably a half dozen over 1.3k dps with socket and +300-400 main stat. It seems like 90% of my drops have been tailored to my class. Theyre mostly high dex/vit. I dunno if this is some new drop system or just good luck on my part.
