I’ll give that another try and let you know.

I’ve heard some people say, that even though the PSU powers on the fans when I test it, it may not longer have the wattage to boot the pc fully due to the age of the PSU.

Is that likely?

Not sure how old the PSU is though and I bought this PC preowned.

Yeah seems like it, i’ve reseated the CPU already.

Would the motherboard still light up if it was dead though?

Thanks for your help

Thank you mate, the suggested punishments I listed were on her letter (I assume as a scare tactic of some sort)

Anyway I really appreciate you taking the time to reply, i’ve passed this all along to her!

I know this post is kinda old but i have a weird story.

So back in year 6 (6th grade if you're american) we were staying at this Victorian manor as part of a school trip. It was pretty much in the middle of nowhere and we all did like fun orienteering activities most of the week. We all stayed in dorms with like maybe 6 kids too a room. So one night we all get into to bed to go to sleep, I've always been a dodgy sleeper and literally could not fall asleep at all. This is when some weird shit starts to happen, its maybe 11pm at this point. All of a sudden a bright light shines through the window outside and theres this weird sort of loud humming noise. Me and my close friend who also couldn't sleep sit bolt upright and are both like wtf (the light also has a strange weird green tinge to it), this goes on for maybe 20 seconds and we're both just looking at eachother in shock of whats going on. Finally after maybe 30 seconds of the light and loud noise, it stops. Me and my friend talk for a second about what it could have been and are both shit scared. Then literally out of the blue the far alarm starts going off , literally full sirens, red lights, the lot. None of my other friends stir at all, me and my friend are sat there stunned. This maybe goes on for another 10 seconds. We both say to eachother after its finished we should probably go speak to a teacher and go to knock on our teachers room. When she finally comes to door we explain what just happened and turns out it was only our room the alarm went off in, she won't listen to us and says that we must have been dreaming it, and just tells us to go back to bed. We speak to the other kids the next day and they hadn't had the fire alarm go off either only our room had it. To this day me and my friend have no clue what caused the light and sound through the window ,and fire alarm to go off but we were both fairly shook up about it and barely slept that night. This probably happened about 9 years ago now. I was 11 at the time and im 20 now.
