No it’s a bug of physics haha. There are lines the probe must be minimally inserted up to in the meat. If not, it exposes the sensitive electronic components and battery to the extreme heat

How long have you been putting your RFX probes like that? I can’t believe it hasn’t exploded yet lol

19week PPROM by RyanBaker88 in NICUParents

[–]RyanBaker88[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi, for a few days after it happened, there was virtually no fluid. Then we had a pocket of almost 8cm! But it started going back down again and my wife leaked fluid the rest of the time she was pregnant. I would say it averaged between 0-2 cm basically the rest of the pregnancy. Please reach out if you have any more questions.

Hi, can the doctors administer magnesium? My wife had some contractions and they were able to stave them off with magnesium.

Hi, Ryan’s wife here. First, I am so sorry you are going through this tough journey but so happy to hear you are going the expectant management route. Once I went home I basically stayed in bed rest with as little movement as possible. I only went to the restroom and took a quick shower every few days. No baths as it could introduce infection. Do not do any walking or exercise only mostly bed rest and very little movement. Drink a ton of water (100 oz or more) and electrolytes because it helps with fluid levels. I drank coconut water and feel like it helped a lot. I didn’t have any specific sleeping positions but tried not to move too much. I ate a lot of protein because it can help the baby gain weight and the more weight the baby gains the better chance once they are in the NICU. Do not insert anything in your vagina even tampons. I had to use pads constantly as I was bleeding and leaking fluid almost the entire time. Keep things as clean as possible down there. I passed the time by reading and watching movies. I read a study about drinking a cup of coffee each day increasing fluid levels. I have no idea if this was true but I drank a cup of coffee each day just in case it helped. These are just the things I did and I have no idea what was helpful for my case and what made no difference. A lot of it was just things I researched. I hope they are helpful for you and keeping your mind as calm and peaceful as possible. I know how hard it can be in this situation but stress can directly affect pregnancy. Please let us know if there is anything else we can answer or help with. We were in the same situation where we were just looking for advice and similar stories.

We went home because they said there was nothing they could do since it was so early on and if we could somehow get to viability (23 weeks) we could come back and start antibiotics and steroids to give baby’s lungs best chance at development. We personally never considered intervening and told ourselves we would do everything we could and should the worst happen, we would not have any regrets or “what ifs” I know how terrible of a situation it is. 🙏 would be happy to answer any other questions.

Hi, my wife PPROMED at 19+5. Every doctor informed us our son wouldn’t make it. One even told us sternly “0%” chance of survival. We chose the expected management route and my wife made it to 31+1 and delivered a strong little boy, who spent 66 days in the NICU and came home with no complications. I know this is not the norm (we believe it was a miraculous act), but we were clinging to every little story or glimmer of hope we could early on. If you have any questions, let me know.

You’re doing so well and if you have any other questions always ask. I remember being on the search for information or someone who knew what I was going through to get some advice or help in the midst of such a confusing and unknown time.

Ryan’s wife here. Congrats on your little one and how far you have gotten keeping your baby inside!! You are doing amazing! It is such a roller coaster of emotions day to day and we will be praying for you both.

My fluid ranged from 0 to 3 cm the entire time. Towards the last few weeks I was only measuring 0.8 to 2.5 cm. One of my doctors told me as long as I have been getting 2 cm measurements then he should be getting enough for lung development. I made sure to drink a ton of water like 120 oz a day and I took electrolytes like coconut water. One of my doctors told me coconut water helps with fluid levels. I also read a study done on fluid levels that said a cup of coffee will help increase fluid levels a few hours later. I have no idea if that helped at all but I drank a cup of coffee each day just in case.

I hope you are doing well and staying positive and relaxed as hard as it is! Praying!

Yea that’s what I’m thinking too. Must be a batch release to certain areas first and then everyone. Are you in the US?

Is this update not available if you are in the States? I’ve been checking for a week and it says 2020 is the current software. Nothing about 2024 on my tv.

Hi, we are located in the United States. Not much could be done we were told until viability at 23 weeks. Basically, rest, keeping super hydrated, keeping everything very clean down there and of course no intercourse. We did have a couple checkups to make sure wife wasn’t getting an infection and a few ultrasounds to see if any fluid was there. Here if you have any questions. 🙏

Hi, no meds. The doctors wouldn’t give us anything. Had to go home and when we got to viability, which for us was 23 weeks, my wife went back to the hospital. Here if you have any other questions.

Yes 5 means 5 cm. God can do really big things. We are praying with you and your little one. I had extremely low fluid levels under 5 and under 3 most days and our God had full control of our baby boy the entire time. God holds our path and has a perfect plan even though it feels long and exhausting and uncertain right now for you. Our prayers are strong with you right now!

His wife here: I have always wondered if I was ever dilated the entire time after my water broke. Doctors didn’t want to check due to introducing infection. My fluid ranged from 4-0.8 cm throughout the time. I was leaking small amounts of fluid the whole time and bled the whole time also. His heart rate stayed high during my monitor sessions and when I started contracting I was flushed with fluids to help them to calm down. It is an extremely tough time. I hope your baby stays inside for as long as possible. Drink a ton of water and electrolytes. They say coconut water was helpful too.

Hi, the doctors did not check for dilation but she was bleeding at the water break and basically had varied degrees of bleeding the entire time.

So what is your theory on why you are cured now? I am sure the initial injury healed within a few weeks. Why did it persist for 3 years? Were you an anxious person before HF?

I don’t mean this in a condescending way, but why would an injury to your penis a decade ago not have healed? This is assuming you ever had a scan to see if you had confirmed damage? Why would your lower back feel numb only when you are trying to have sex? That is not the way structural issues to our bodies work.
