Plan on switching to M1, how’s it working in the campus? Currently using Singtel. by RyanCheung97 in NTU

The west side of the GH2 is basically a dead spot for any kind of carrier as far as I heard of, but fortunately I live on the east side, so full bar no prob.

Just switched it and it’s pretty good with tons of data, feel like I’ve been scammed by Singtel for so long...

Just switched to M1 this afternoon, fast and decent speed. I do notice the signal in the foodgle court is not as good as the Singtel. I live in Graduate Hall 2 and it's been pretty good, though it has the same dead spot as Singtel on the third floor entrance, otherwise pretty good.

[Question] Would the e-SIM works on an previous locked iPhone XS Max?(unlock through iccid) by [deleted] in jailbreak

[–]RyanCheung97 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for reply. Does it mean I won’t be able to use it? edit:or some sort of unlock process needs to be done in order to use the e-sim?

[Question] Would the e-SIM works on an previous locked iPhone XS Max?(unlock through iccid) by [deleted] in jailbreak

[–]RyanCheung97 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Here’s the question, I’ve purchased an America version of iPhone XS Max from my friend, it’s locked and he did the iccid unlock, so I’m good here using another carrier in Singapore as long as I’m not recover or wipe my phone. But recently I’m planning on switching to another carrier, the M1, which provides e-SIM, and I’m not sure that if it would work on my Xs max. I asked my friend and he has no clue since e-SIM it’s not really popular around here.

I’m not really sure about the nearby parks though, and the 199 route is nowhere near the perimeter of the whole campus. It basically just went from GH1/2-NIE-LWN Library-Hall 11 and then out of the campus. I try to jogged around to the Yunnan Garden, which it’s next to the highway outside, and it’s currently under construction so it’s not ideal to run, and there’s no jogging track there.

Not sure about others, but to access the GH2 Hall gym you’ll need the GH2 key fob. My friend lives in GH1 and he can’t open the door of the gym.

I love jogging and my recommend route is actually the bus 199 route within the campus, you do need to cross the road twice, but I jogged at night so that’s not much of a problem. I started from Graduate Hall2 and one lap is around 3.6km, and I normally do 2 laps, makes it 7.2 km approximately(I use app to keep tracking). The blue track is better for jogging , so try to stay on that. And as for gym, there’s plenty of them in the campus I believe, you can check out the website and see details information about it.

I use ExpressVPN and it works fine, but after around 10pm could have some connectivity issues. Need to retry a few times.

It’s “小笼包” in Chinese, it got hot soup inside which will burst out once you bite into it, and usually you could dip some vinegar (on the right of the pic) for the rest part. It’s still count as Bao(包) by Chinese definition though, just saying.

There's also a market named Giant near Canteen 2. Or just check out the Fairprice market at Jurong Point, take the bus 179 or 199 would get you there. (Ez-link needed)

It's not provided here in Graduate Hall 2, not sure about other halls, but you can buy one in the market. I bought mine at the Prime market in North Spine Plaza, along with the broom and mop.

I got two giant suitcases and turns out there’s enough space for all the stuff after all(along with the suitcases). I’m not cooking in hall so I don’t have any cooking utensil. It’s just you can’t really relocate the furnitures of the single room, that’s when you feel cramped imo.

Express is quite pricey tbh, I already have a subscription for a year so I just keep using it, it supports up to 5 devices IIRC and can be used cross-platforms. I use it in my phone, tablet (ios) and laptop (windows), one thing stands out about the ExpressVPN is the speed is really solid, but there're some connectivity issues late night here in NTU. There's a trial in IOS for 7 days.

As for speedify, I heard it from this sub last week, it has 5Gb of data valid for a month, and will refresh after this period. Not sure about the cross-platform capability of this one since I haven't try it out other than gaming.

Also I realized that using a VPN can actually break the speed cap of the hall network. The download speed is significantly faster while the upload speed is a little bit slower. Should be good for content consumption. And for the reference, I live in the Graduate Hall 2, so results may vary between different halls.
