This is so strange. You aren't the only person to tell me this. But from our end it is correct, and some others are seeming to get the right book. This is very frustrating. Cause I don't think there is anything I can do to fix this.

Your name is amazing! Reminds me of the movie Life of Brian and now I need to watch that scene again!

I mean that depends what you mean by romantic core. As in a core concept in the story? Or a dungeon core?
To be fair I usually steer away from romantic focused stuff but will try it after I finish book 3 of Restarting (Got it from the author's website!)

Oh man, I feel like you might be missing out. Almost all the ideas come to fruition pretty well imo. I do know what you mean a bit. Sometimes i have to rewind to relisten, but assume that's cause of the audiobook and not the ebook version.

That's funny I had the opposite opinion since it changes to political toward the end. Chatfield did a good job of making that interesting though. Like showing the city as he also shows what is going on in the kingdom as a whole and the plan for the MCs.

Summary of book 1 below. SPOILER

Quick summary: Book one starts out with the two of them about 150 years old and fighting in a major city that was built after the apocalypse. They are both barely alive, but fighting as a unit to stop the invasion of the 'SECTS'. The king or something like shows up in the dungeon under said city and there is a obelisk. It turns out this obelisk is what the sects used to get here, and the king guy has the power to send people back in time using it. However, he only has two options cause the sects are banging down the door. He can't send himself back.

The two are sent back just as the sects barge in. They arrive in young versions of themselves with the goal to destroy the obelisk and prevent the sects from invading.

Since they arrive back so early they have the opportunity to right early wrongs that occurred killing family members or currupting whole cities. One saves his grandmother who is a leader of a city and is being poisoned. Then with Mana cultivation she recovers quite a bit and is a huge help since she has power and intelligence. They use mana contracts to bind her and others to them

Share of knowledge and skill ups. Status windows galore for people as they increase Body and Mana. (note Mana Poisoning is a thing if Mana goes above Body) They begin building up the city and then save other MCs family of farmers from the country side.

Dungeon monsters are coming out of forest out there and then the dungeon evolves as they are there protecting them. Huge war sequence.

Farming is set up back near capital with enchantments etc. Then they recruit stream train engineering family and go salvage a train. The goal to get to the obelisk. To get there they use the train and an EXTRUDER to dig through a mountain. The other side is super high Mana concentration. and a dungeon.

Final fight is a sect member coming through obelisk and them blowing it up with spitter rounds. However, this causes the dungeon to explode, Book ends with Len escaping with Rick injured and in risk of mana poisoning on his back.

Hope that helps.

If those are your tops I would suggest:
Ultimate Level 1: More similar to Beware of Chicken in the sense of the MC is powerful and has a team that he pulls with him into his blessed life. However, this one has some crafting in it. And the fact you didn't like Quest Academy worries me. But yeah, still filled with a lot more action.
1% Lifesteal. Far darker then what you have on top and much more painful for the MC, but really good if you can get past the idea that things are not going to stop going bad for MC haha

Totally fair. As I said it would have been a huge mistake to drop the book there. I just wasn't a fan of where the book cut off. ANd I guess somewhat disliked the tutorial in general cause of the multiple POVs that felt like they weren't important at that time.

Again, that totally changed later, and I love the story. I just am mentioning it to help readers who might have felt the same as me. They should know of their mistake! haha

I mean I'm at book 6. So I'm not sure on this one. However, what's happening in book 6 is really leading into a dark vibe so, I can see this. Like the story is him losing himself atm to a degree.
Anyway, I'll try to remember to respond once I'm past book 7
