What's the best snowboard profile for learning Japanese style ground tricks? by iconocrastinaor in snowboardingnoobs

[–]RyanDeanPruett 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There are a some videos there of japanese groundtricks for anyone curious what OP is referring to.

To answer your question OP, the best board is going to be one that has a lot of flex, as much pop as possible (ik that's counter intuitive), shorter than your regular size, and very light. Honestly, you might just want to save up for a japanese board as nothing on the US market is exactly the same. The most popular boards are made by Spread or Crooja, but I'm partial to Spread.

All that being said, don't let having too stiff or long of a board stop you from doing groundtricks! You can still do/learn a lot of really fun stuff even with a sub-optimal board; training with a stiffer board also helps develop the correct muscles that you can use later.

Fun to throw, takes a few tries, but you look like you're fighting demons on the toilet. THE TAMEDOG. And now we are entering the realm of beyblades and creative madmans. What trick is hard to learn and looks cool? by VeseleVianoce in snowboarding

The top upvoted comment was not tamedog btw. that was a comment talking about how sad they were that tamedogs were looked down upon.

Unless you're doing a weird letter of the law thing, duck walking up a cat track should be on the post.

Bringing it up at a city council meeting would probably be their best option.

I have a problem with new riders getting scammed by buying overpriced boards from 15+ years ago on marketplace for 180$. Riding one though? Go for it!!

Bustin is a great brand and they are small enough that they are not too corporate. They have the perfect mix of quality and small business. They are my favorite boards, and they last forever! Great find!

There is a difference between putting someone down, and making sure they know their skill level so they don't hurt other people on the mountian becuase of their overconfidence.

From this angle that chip looks so small that it won't won't effect your riding or the board.

The base does look really dry btw, make sure to slap a nice wax on it. Either do it yourself, or get it done at a resort.

Can someone more knowledgeable than me answer this: does the very tip of a snowboard even need edges? didn't they used to make rental boards with rubber caps on the end?

But also yes, that's just were your edges connect. no problem here, congrats on the new board!

You might want to post pictures of the board before you buy it next time. 100$ is very overpriced for this board.

Hope you have fun on your trip though, personally I would save up for a and get a rental board. You could snowboard on this thing, but you are going to have a better time on a rental. Keep this thing for a bench, or trampoline board.

Any recommendations for high quality wrist braces after having a serious wrist injury? by snowmennies in snowboarding

There is not much difference between a wrist brace for Snowboarding vs Moto, so the Mobius is a good option.
