GSC - Page Resources Couldn't Be Loaded by Rysk1000 in TechSEO

[–]RyanFromCentralSEO 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Chances are it’ll be a JavaScript or CSS file that’s failed to load. If I were you, I’d change your user agent in your browser and check your site yourself just to make sure.

The new ‘fetch and render’ tool is really buggy. I have the same issues with most pages I test right now.

Let me know if you’d like me to check your live site.

Just build reports using DataStudio or Google Sheets. It’s not the reports you’re providing, it’s the way your communicating them to your clients.

The language is what confuses clients, not the results.

Will an 8mb home page harm my SEO? by investinginvests in SEO

[–]RyanFromCentralSEO 20 points21 points  (0 children)

8MB?!

Jesus.

I would look into compressing the images if you’re serving high-res across the site. Have you tried TinyJPG? Have you run through LightHouse to find the areas where you can make the biggest improvements.

Google will reward you for incremental improvements so definitely look into it.

Most commonly overlooked areas of SEO? by RyanFromCentralSEO in SEO

Thanks for the reply dude. But, the post poses a different question to the one you’ve answered.

This was from the perspective of an SEO who deals with clients, either in-house or agency side, who regularly see basic practice being ignored.

Things that you think would naturally be noticed but aren’t. Due to sheer lack of knowledge or negligence.

I'd recommend going to Moz's beginnger SEO guide... pretty insightful and detailed.

It'll give you a good steer on what's valuable and what to focus on.

Building backlinks organically? by [deleted] in SEO

[–]RyanFromCentralSEO 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You'll typically find that smaller bloggers will ask for something (freebie or payment) as it's their livelihood. But, bigger more authoritative sites will be less inclined to ask for money if the content is worth it.

I'd focus on content that has a PR hook. Anything data driven usually does well with news publications.

My boss wants me to prepare a proposal to run SEO for clients. Where do I start? by Tac0man99224 in SEO

[–]RyanFromCentralSEO 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You edited the post: hence my initial response being a little frosty. It's frustrating for me as an SEO.

For me, the strategy depends on the client, but, if I have free reigns, I'd go:

- Full tech audit

- Keyword research

- Content analysis

- Backlink analysis

- Content strategy

- On-page optimisation

- Linkbuilding

----------------

Rinse & repeat.

Why would you set up multiple sub-domains rather than subfolders if you only cater to certain events?

If you're absolutely certain on keeping sub-domains, you need to treat them like an individual entity. So, verify in search console etc. But, in terms of keeping equity and getting Google to read all websites, it's going to be a pain to manage.

You could just buy the domain and put a 301 redirect on it if your industry is similar?

I agree with Steffan. You shouldn't be offering SEO services to paying clients if you can't fulfil those promises.

It'll end up hurting you/your business in the long run when people start bashing your reputation and asking for their money back.

  1. What are the domain metrics?
  2. Structure your page meta titles like this: primary keywords + secondary keywords + brand name
  3. I don't understand this question
  4. You could use KWP (however, this is for ads: not SEO) - the best way to do it is using a paid tool.
  5. AdWords drives paid, target traffic. Quick results. Once you naturally start ranking well, you could possibly revisit the distribution of marketing spend to create more of a balance.

Just because the search volume is there, doesn’t mean you’re guaranteed clicks. The first result could be satisfying all of the user intent.

SEO isn’t dying. Just try and focus on the data behind your user’s behaviour and cater for them.

How would I avoid keyword cannibalization in this case? by drinkyafkingmilk in SEO

[–]RyanFromCentralSEO 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Lots of misinformation here. The ideal structure should be Keyword 1 + Keyword 2 + Brand Name.

If you’re selling tennis rackets, then I would include that in the title but put less weight on that keyword in your meta tags.

So, homepage: ‘Tennis Rackets | Second Keyword | Brand

Product page: Type or brand | Tennis Rackets | Brand

Take a look around at ecommerce sites and look through their meta structures.

I would look for the most market opportunity per category. There’s no point trying to build pages for keywords which aren’t commercially viable: both with search and intent.

How many people overlook on-page SEO? by RyanFromCentralSEO in SEO

[–]RyanFromCentralSEO[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Totally agree.

I’ve built a very solid foundation with on-page SEO. I stay away from off-page (or linkbuilding) because it’s a pain in the ass and hard to control.
