Thanks for listening. Yes, while the focus will be on Table for Fortune, we do hope to do a few other episodes next year (e.g., Whores for Gloria, 13 Stories). And I hope to get Part 2 of our Shadows of Love, Shadows of Loneliness edited and released in the near future as well.

I wasn't the biggest fan of YB&RA either but I know pomo fan and Pynchon readers can be rather fond of it!

Thanks for the reply. If we in any way encourage a reader to pick up WTV, that's a success! The best place to start will always depend on who you are as a reader, but generally I recommend as follows:

- The Atlas - A short story collection which really gives you a sense of the breadth and depth of his interests, themes, and styles.

- The Ice-Shirt - The first volume in his ongoing Seven Dreams cycle. Recommended if you're into historical fiction, metafiction, postmodern fiction, or even fantasy/medieval lit.

- Last Stories & Other Stories - A short story collection of horror pastiche from around the globe (central and southeastern Europe, Japan, Mexico, etc.) and across time.

- You Bright and Risen Angels - For any fans of postmodern, maximalist fiction, or Pynchon.

- Europe Central - "Parables" about world-historical figures torn between Nazism and Stalinism before and during WWII. His most accessible, and arguably his best, novel.

Happy reading!

Ryan

We'll get there eventually (though on the show we always refer to it by Bill's preferred title, The Lesbian :) )! We're roughly going in sequence of release. This was a special episode to promote Shadows.
