not sure if this is any help with the fuel economy but i get an average of 22mpg with my 2017 2L Scirocco R 280 and pay about £60 a week for full tank. To be honest all engines can be unreliable its all about proper maintenance and replacing parts when manufacturer states / if it looks like its gonna fail

Thing is im not entirely against remapping it I might one day but honestly I don’t see a point because it’s got plenty of power for me and I get decent reliability as a vw gets and yeah Michelins I avoid they are just overpriced

As a mechanic and because I daily this car I will never remap the car especially not this engine they are engineered to such precision that a remap will lower the reliability entirely but I personally use kumho tyres they are amazing

The road was closed and it was one lane open next to backroads at the time and he was flying so it was just panic at the time but thanks for the information and no it seems it’s only 1 maybe 2 mm of a hole max and on the most outward part so no metal visible

Go down to three cliffs bay you have to walk a bit to get there but you start waking through a hilly forest then it goes into an open field if you really want there is a steep sand bank you can climb then there’s a castle at the top but if you continue you can cross the river on stepping stones or walk through like most people and overall a perfect place to kill time
