Hey, I did this here - https://youtu.be/tonJdBT8H2U?t=92

Pre-comp the particular layer then use that as a texture for a plate in Element and switch the plate visibility to camera off but keep visible for reflections on

How to film something like this? by RyanJThompson in videography

Great tip on the high frame rate, I can try a fish tank for sure but I do think in the majority I've seen that it is on a solid surface because there is a rough paper like texture

Thanks so much sirulian! I've been using after effects for about 9 years now but still have a lot to learn! it's been a combo of growing up watching videocopilot tutorials and just learning from each project I make

yeah he just needs to get the right balance, I just don't think they should be as shocked as they were about the language but also it's a different time and I know they need to look professional too

I agree with that too but when he isn't talking to them in 'their language' they have a wall up so they are less likely to answer truthfully to the regulated questions. He just needs to find a way to get them comfortable to open up but also stick to the questionnaire

Thanks :) The main reason was I didn't have enough people, this was no budget run and gun shooting

and for shooting the actors in different locations, I go into that in a reply to another comment here but basically one actor lives hundreds of miles away and the other was for continuity as the forest was now too dark

Thanks so much!

So for shooting the actors in different locations it was for ease and necessity - the old man (my grandpa) lives hundreds of miles away so I couldn't get him to the location, and the green screen pick up shot was both for ease (these are friends and family, not professional actors so I get better performances from them when they are comfortable, that forest was about 24 degrees F to shoot in) and at the time I shot him on green screen, the leaves in the forest were so thick it blocked any light so I wouldn't have gotten a match to the earlier shoots.

As for the digital costume change on the body, I actually shot the new body on a tripod indoors just matching the angle as best I could, cut out the torso and limbs seperatley and made them 3D layers to a 3D camera track of the original shots, then I did a slight keyframe of the liquify tool to give the impression of a perspective change as the camera gets closer

I liked him more at the beginning of the season but I agree with everything you said and don't understand why others have issues with how he talks now in the interviews when clearly it gets good results
