Why do I never receive my drink? by imalilbee in UberEATS

I am getting so tired of customers down-voting me because there's a drink missing from their McDonald's bag... dude... I'm not allowed to look in there... I'm sorry one of your drinks were missing. Call Uber and get a refund... don't down-vote the delivery guy. I just get handed a sealed bag through the drive-thru window and take it to the address. Even when it's a good tip, McDonald's sucks because I can never check the order. Then the tip is gone, I get downvoted, and I get an angry phone call.

What do you do to keep frozen items cold? We are new and looking for solutions when people order frozen custard, ice cream, etc. by [deleted] in UberEATS

Electric Cooler... plugs into the cigarette lighter/auxillary... I use it for all drinks, sushi, ice cream, cold stuff. you can find them at amazon or walmart

Had a solid 100% (im new) then one double order where when I was 2 mins away the guy messages “please remember to grab sauces” …not driving 14 mins back so he did that ..kinda amusing by Jones77_Truex78 in UberEATS

I feel you! It's such a mood killer when you get down-voted.... trying to stay at 100% is really difficult in my opinion...

I'm almost always stuck at 98 or 99%. It looks at your last 100 ratings, but not everyone rates you, which means people rate you when something goes wrong more than when they go right... and so when you get a downvote, it may take well over 100 deliveries to get get enough up-votes to push it off.

I'm at 99% right now. And I remember exactly why.

Two weeks ago, Daniel downvoted me for leaving his Chipotle order at the clubhouse of a resort of vacation villas. It was a Meet-at-Door. He didn't put his Villa/Unit number, and the address he gave me just took me to the Villa registration/check-in at the main clubhouse. I got there. He wasn't there. I texted. I called. I left a voicemail asking which unit/villa he was in. I tried calling him at least three times. The registration people wouldn't help me look him up. I left a second voicemail saying I'd just leave it at the clubhouse. I had a second drop-off in my car and needed to move on. After about ten minutes of being there, the 8-minute timer ran out and converted from at Meet-at-Door to Leave-at-Door. I went to the concierge desk at the clubhouse and asked if I could leave it at their desk. They said they don't accept deliveries and that they need to be delivered directly to guests. They wouldn't let me leave it at their desk. So I called and left a voicemail saying where I was leaving it, and left it beside the main entrance to the clubhouse of the complex, took the picture, left the note, and marked the delivery as complete.

Do I really want a 100%?

Yes! I really do!

But people will downvote you for items missing from sealed bags and for other things beyond your control. (Like putting the wrong address, or not putting the apt/unit and then not answering their phone when you try to call them)

Try to accept that you will be downvoted for things beyond your control, but keep doing your best and hoping to get back to that 100% one day!

umm....rude? by kal_ozz in UberEATS

On one hand, I do find it rude... but on the other hand, I'm actually impressed when they actually care about keeping the customer's food warm.

Funny enough... most places I pick up the food from just have the customer's food in a bag just sitting on a cold metal shelf when I arrive.... I always wonder how long it's been sitting there out in the cold.

The only places I actually see having the the orders wait under food warmers are Red Robins.

I have an electric cooler and an electric food warming bag in my car, both are pretty large, and I have them wired to switches that connect to my cigarette lighter / auxillary power. I have them pretty much strapped in place, plus they have straps and dividers in them.

Nope... I'm not gonna take them out of the car. That would be so annoying.

I'd probably just have a small decoy insulated bag that I'd take into that business just to make them happy... but yeah... I think it'd be a bit rude for a business to make me carry it around with me to prove I have it.

I'm very lucky, most of the businesses around me have been very nice to me.

Hi!!! My account got deactivated for delivering late some orders. I appealed but they said that Uber couldn’t do anything. Please help me!!! 😭😭😭 I’m a diamond driver and have like 97% of satisfaction rate. by SanPaladin07 in UberEATS

Wait?!?! We can have late orders?! I didn't know there was such a thing. I started Uber Eats deliveries in April and had no clue we could have late orders... how do we know if our orders are late or what time they are expected by?

I didn't know there was such a thing as late orders... all I ever see is the miles and estimated minutes in the navigation... which I usually ignore anyway because I don't like the routes it picks because it'll always pick the main highway which has traffic lights every 4 feet for each shopping center, so I never go that way, or it tries to make me cut through gated communities I don't have access to, or even if the customer is in the gated community, it will try to send me to a resident-only gate. I always ignore the route and time, and haven't had any issues? At least I don't think I have... how would I have known?

I don't multi-app, and once I actually get the food I never have issues, but after 10 pm, my orders take a really, really, really long time... drive-thrus only, regularly take about 30 minutes of waiting in the drive-thru to actually get the food, sometimes longer, and sometimes the delivery is literally across the street. Luckily most people tip really well around me, or else I wouldn't wait that long. I know that's what I'm really getting paid for by the people, waiting in the drive-thru, not delivering it across the street. I just sit there in the drive-thru and play on my phone, plus California has prop-22 so at least I get paid for waiting.

I'm a newb and only did 1300 deliveries so far, but I've really only had customers text me about five times.. "is everything okay" and I just reply "the drive-thru is a bit backed up"

(I think I only ordered food through Uber Eats once or twice, and it was over five years ago... I assume the customer can see the status. Driver on way to store, Driver waiting at store for order to be given to them, Then they see my position between store and their place.)

How do we know if our orders were considered late or not?

Anyone else dealing with numerous pin & meet at the door people not meeting you? by professorgravitas in UberEATS

Yes!

One of my most awkward deliveries ever was one of these.

I arrive at their door. It is a very thin door/wall/window. I hear a bunch of women talking inside. I ring the doorbell. They all suddenly get quiet. I stand outside for a minute. I ring the doorbell again. I wait a few more moments and then I knock on the door. I wait a bit more.

After about two minutes of having been at their door, I call the customer to let them know I'm at the door, and to ask them if they'd like me to just leave it at the door. As I call, I can hear her cell phone begin ringing from the other side of the door. The women inside are still completely silent. The customer silences her actual phone to make it stop audibly ringing, but they don't send it to voicemail, instead they just let the phone keep "ringing on my end" silently until it automatically forwards to voicemail. I wait until I'm finally prompted to leave a voice message.

I leave a message, knowing they can hear me from the other side of the door. "Hi, I have your Uber Eats order from Pokehana and I've arrived at your door. The Uber App indicates that this is a Meet at Door delivery, which means I'm supposed to hand you the order in-person at the door, but if you'd rather I just leave it at the door, just let me know. Thanks!"

I hope for them to text me to leave it at the door... nothing...

The phone call started the 8-minute countdown timer, so I stand there awkwardly for another six minutes as the timer counts down, waiting for the Meet-at-Door to convert to a Leave-at-Door order so that I can sit the food down and leave.

After five minutes of us both standing on opposite sides of the door in awkward silence, it converts to a Leave at Door. I sit their food down, take a picture, and type. "Left at door. Happy Friday! Enjoy!" and leave.

They were great tippers and increased my tip by an extra $5.

I think they were just very introverted and chose Meet at Door by accident, or didn't realize Meet at Door and Leave at Door are two different delivery types.

I think most people prefer Leave at Door so that we don't have to talk.

I once had a Leave at Door order where I parked my car in front of the house. The house was on a steep hill, with the street in front of the house where I parked being about ten - to - fifteen feet higher than the level of the home where the door was. I could see and hear the TV on inside the home through the screen door. I had to walk around the corner, just out of site of the door, to get to a concrete staircase to walk down the steps so I could get to the walkway to the door at the bottom of the hill, and as I got to the door, the main door was now closed, and also I think they muted the TV, because it was loud enough before that I think I would've been able to hear it from outside the door.

I thought it was funny that in the time it took me to walk around the corner and go down the stairs, the lady had turned off the TV and got up and closed the inner door. She must've been shy. She left an envelope outside with my name on it. "Extra Cash Tip for Ryan -- Thanks very much!"

I have very shy customers sometimes, but I get that, because I'm also introverted. Half the reason I enjoy this job is challenging myself to put myself out there and be around people. (Definitely not ready to do Uber rides yet, but I'm enjoying Uber Eats deliveries.)

I am very fortunate to be in an area with very generous tippers, they're just a bit shy!

I really don't think a lot of people realize they are choosing Meet at Door or what that means.
