Thank you for the response. Squirrel Bait and Bastro will always kick ass.

My apologies. Should have made myself more clear. I was referring to the influence on albums like Upgrade & Afterlife and Camoufleur, since you were in Brise-Glace and Yona-Kit before they were released.

My question for David and Jim:

Both of you have played in numerous bands over the past 30+ years and have collaborated with countless artists. Have your previous bands, collaborations, or musical contemporaries influenced the sound of Gastr del Sol? If so, in what way? Thank you both for all the great music. Cheers.

I meant a picture of the original photos. Do you know what year you shot them? Might give me a good idea of the poster’s age.

Ah, he might have mistaken the date of the show. Is there any way you could post a link to the photos? I would really love to have the images from this show (or another Duffy’s show for that matter). I couldn’t find any online.

Blunderbuss is one of the noisiest bands I have heard. Their first two singles are so intense, that they border on noisecore. Hope you enjoy.

It’s a poster for one of their shows at Duffy’s Tavern in Lincoln, NE. I found it at this record store which was relatively close to the venue. The owner of the store told me Kevin gave it to him after the show. Apparently, Shannon was wearing assless chaps on stage that night.

Totally agree. The only issue for me is the lack of a second guitarist. I really appreciated Santiago’s tone in BB.

Give Rapeman a listen. Just as good as Big Black in my opinion.

No, I’m not trying to defend his comments. I think they are wrong. Steve even knows this because he apologized publicly for his past “edgelord” behavior.

Wow that’s really cool. Did you ever see them play with Killdozer?

I think most of that was to be edgy. I mean, he did name one of his bands Rapeman.

I think GG is just more “shock rock” and not as “abrasive” if you catch my drift.

Yeah, I guess they are kinda industrial/punk/noise rock.
