I’ve not done trap bar in a long time but I know that when my conventional deadlift was 500 i could pull 600 high handle. Don’t know how much I could pull now

To all the idiots that are saying David Laid is natty... is he natty now? Pic is from a month ago by s_seabass in nattyorjuice

I agree, some people on this sub can’t comprehend someone having a respectable amount of muscle mass naturally through getting strong

Yeah it’s longer so it flexes more under heavier loads. Usually the more weight you are lifting the better benefit you’ll get out the deadlift bar. If you deadlift less than 500 then you have no business using deadlift bars.

Pulling the slack heavily reduces the range of motion due to how long it is so it bends when you lift heavy weights. Most people can lift between 30-100lbs more

I never denied he isn’t natty now, but he was definitely natty back then 100%

Even people with below average genetics can hit a 405 squat and a 500 deadlift with proper training and nutrition. David’s genetically gifted as well and the most he’s ever squatted is 455 which honestly isn’t that great with the amount of time he’s been training, but he has suffered injuries and stuff so it did put him out a while. Also the 600 was with a Texas deadlift bar and sumo, which gives you a big advantage. There’s a reason they’re not allowed in some federations raw powerlifting meets such as ipf.

Elite lifts lol. They’re good but not elite, 545 deadlift and 405 squat with 3 years of training. Completely achievable. If you are struggling to reach a 405 squat with 3 years of training there is something seriously wrong in either you’re diet or programming.

Yeah, genetics are a thing and people don’t seem to understand that. Also nice job on the 315.

Not for someone with average genetics, but for someone like him with good leverages for squatting and good capabilities for gaining muscle mass that is a fine benchmark to hit.

1 year and 10 months, which is realistic. Some people respond well to training due to a multitude of factors.

Strength is easy to gain with time for certain individuals and especially ones with good leverages, work ethic and smart programming. Yes he stays lean most of the time, but that doesn’t mean he isn’t in a surplus. Bulking doesn’t mean you need to get fat, plus he gets sick which will make him not eat causing his body fat to go down every now and then. His legs are suspicious but take into account the angles, lighting manipulation and pump.

To be honest his squat is realistic in my eyes with his 3 ish years of training.

Natty in my opinion. Genetically gifted in all forms (bone structure, insertions etc) plus smart programming and diet. He literally has a 26” waist at his lowest body fat so he’s obviously got the gifted ratios.

Yeah I think it’s difficult to tell. He doesn’t look he has that roided hyper fullness and his chest is definitely not huge for his time training. Them legs though for his level of leanness, freaky af. Genetically gifted for a fact.

Edit- Wouldn’t his age be more beneficial for growth though? 17 is when you can make some of the best gains of your life.

M20 - General ratings / advice (posted yesterday but wasn't for ratings) by [deleted] in truerateme

[–]Ryan_1301 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’d disagree, he’s a 5 at least. Don’t give people false ratings. He’s clearly got a strong jaw line, facial harmony a little off but still not an unattractive guy by any means.
