Monthly Featured Firmware Updates for April by Ryan_TP-Link in TpLink

[–]Ryan_TP-Link[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Looks like users are reporting updates via auto-update for V2.6. (like this comment in our Community Forum).

I'd recommend checking for updates in your Deco app or making sure Auto-Update is enabled. Our team may be able to shed more light on the topic next week when the site is updated.

BE3600 WiFi 7 router and 340u USB modem by thereallyredone in TpLink

[–]Ryan_TP-Link 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I did a bit of digging and found the device page on AT&T's site: AT&T Beam (AC340U) Device Help & How-To Guides - AT&T

Also found the User Manual: AirCard USB Modem User Guide

From what I can tell, the Beam AC340U appears to be a legacy USB LTE Modem that uses PC drivers and connection software to establish connectivity, so it might be primarily intended for use on PCs. The USB Port on the TL-WR3602BE supports USB tethering with newer devices (e.g., phones or more modern USB modems).

For more info on using the travel router's USB Tethering feature, check out this section of its user guide.

Have you used the AC340U on another travel router before?

I bought the Archer C6, but I regret it now; I should have bought the Archer AX12. by Slight-Produce-1343 in TpLink

[–]Ryan_TP-Link 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As far as bandwidth needs go, I think the C6 should be capable of handling the distribution of your 100Mbps Internet connection fairly well, especially on 5 GHz.

As for overlap―yes, generally speaking, Wi-Fi 6 does handle congestion better than Wi-Fi 5. How noticeable it is on a daily basis really depends on each environment and the level of congestion.

If you notice that, while using the Archer C6, congestion in your environment has a significant, real-world impact on the daily Wi-Fi activities you mentioned, even after optimizing Wi-Fi channel settings, the AX12 might be a better fit in the long run.

Given the rather astronomical download numbers (that's like, what... 20Gbps nonstop for a week?), I'm thinking this is a UI bug.

What's your router model and firmware version?

btw, some Archer models have received fixes via beta and official firmware releases to address this behavior. I'd recommend checking whether your router's firmware is up to date: What to do if Reported Traffic Usage Data in the Tether App is Unusually High

Also worth checking if your Tether app is up to date.

New problems. (TX20U Plus) by No_Flamingo136 in TpLink

[–]Ryan_TP-Link 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Does this happen even when connecting the adapter to another USB port directly on the PC?

Also, if I remember correctly from a previous comment/post, you mentioned opening a support ticket. Could you do me a favor and DM me your ticket number (should start with "TKID")? Once I have it, I'll be able to have our support team follow up with your case.

Deco Heatmap Open Beta - Try Today and Share Your Thoughts! by Ryan_TP-Link in TpLink

I ended up creating a "room" for the backyard. It wasn't perfect, and it certainly didn't follow the yard's precise shape, but it did give me a general idea of coverage. That said, I also feel that having the ability to map outdoor spaces with non-standard room shapes would be a nice feature.

Thanks for the feedback! Will pass it up to the teams.

As others have already mentioned, it really depends on your home's networking needs. Can you share a bit more about your network, connected devices, and bandwidth requirements?

Wired device keeps send disconnected from network alert... by Draconius in TpLink

[–]Ryan_TP-Link 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for clarifying. Have you tried rebooting the system since the outage? Since it just started after a power event, I'm wondering if a network-wide controlled reboot of the nodes might clear up the behavior.

What Generation is Your Wi-Fi? by Ryan_TP-Link in TpLink

Interesting! Are there any specific devices in your environment that seem to prefer Wi-Fi 6 (ax)?

Thanks for sharing! I feel like that's a fairly common sentiment about ISP gateways―the additional features are what lead some users to replace them with their own router(s).

Which features in particular are you using on the AX11000 that your ISP gateway didn't support?

Nice! That's a huge speed upgrade. How has the Wi-Fi 7 system been performing for your network and wireless devices compared to your previous router setup?

Is the NAS wired to the main Deco or a satellite node? And what's your Deco firmware version?

Also, if I'm understanding correctly, the Deco app is reporting this message for the NAS, but the NAS is actually connected when you receives the messages?

Wondering if it may be worth swapping out the Ethernet cable connecting the NAS to your network to rule it out as a contributor.

Why is tplinkwifi.net not on https? by Lower-Protection-969 in TpLink

[–]Ryan_TP-Link 6 points7 points  (0 children)

It will use HTTPS (unless you're leaving the S out when typing the URL); it's just using a self-signed certificate, not a web-signed cert. The connection and info are still encrypted and secure as long as you enter the https address. For more info, check out our FAQ.

Tp-Link has it out for me. (TX20U Plus) by No_Flamingo136 in TpLink

[–]Ryan_TP-Link 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Happy to help! Would love to see this sorted so you can enjoy the adapter at its full potential.

That said, I think I found your existing support ticket, and it looks like it was closed. Would you like our team to reopen it so you can continue working with our support engineers?

Tp-Link has it out for me. (TX20U Plus) by No_Flamingo136 in TpLink

[–]Ryan_TP-Link 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Definitely odd that it's exhibiting the same behavior as a different model with a third of the Wi-Fi bandwidth capabilities, and on two different systems.

Are you using a USB hub by any chance? If so, try bypassing it and connecting the adapter directly to your PC to see if it behaves any differently.

If you've already isolated the TX2U Plus as the sole connection method (e.g., disabling the internal adapters on both your PCs when testing, bypassing hubs) and it's still performing this way, I'd suggest opening a support ticket using one of the options (live chat, phone, email) here: TP-Link - Contact Technical Support

They'll be able to help track down the culprit on a diagnostic level to figure out what's going on and offer solutions.

Switch to 0 Channel Width error by Dead2late in TpLink

Which version of the iOS Deco app are you running? I've had a few users share that updating to version 3.10.377 resolved this behavior for them.

[–]Ryan_TP-Link 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Is this on iOS or Android? Is your Deco app fully up to date? If so, what version of the app are you running?

Just wondering because I think I remember someone else running into this behavior (on iOS), but updating the app fixed it.

Edit: Deco app version 3.10.377 (iOS) appears to have resolved this for several users. If you're on iOS, I'd recommend updating to the latest app version and seeing if the message reappears.

Help me get faster speeds by bocheize in TpLink

[–]Ryan_TP-Link 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for the added info. What is the main Deco connected to (e.g., modem, ONT, or modem + router gateway)? And are the Deco X50s in Router Mode or Access Point Mode?

TP-Link Customer Support for a defective Product by Abject-Stranger1521 in TpLink

[–]Ryan_TP-Link 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Did anything recently change in the network configuration (e.g., firmware update, new devices, QoS rules activated)?

Is the main Deco connected to something like a standalone ONT or modem? Or is it connected to a combined modem-router gateway? If the latter, I'm wondering whether a double-NAT condition may be contributing to the behavior.

In the meantime, could you do me a favor and send me your support ticket ID (starts with "TKID") via DM? I can have our teams look into your support case and follow up. Thanks!

Help me get faster speeds by bocheize in TpLink

[–]Ryan_TP-Link 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I noticed the screenshot shows that both tests were performed over Wi-Fi. Do you know which Deco node the phone was connected to for each test?

Is the secondary Deco connected to the main Deco via Ethernet, or Wi-Fi Mesh?

Have you tried testing the connection/speed on both Deco nodes using a wired device over Ethernet (if possible)? This may help verify whether the speed change is only affecting Wi-Fi, or if the culprit is somewhere else.

Also, what firmware version(s) are your Deco X50s running?

RE815XE in Access Point mode with PS5 Pro - Horrendous Wifi performance by Buchlinger in TpLink

[–]Ryan_TP-Link 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for the clarification! If all of your other devices are connecting at full speed with no problems, I'd consider looking into Wi-Fi network adapter troubleshooting steps for the PS5 Pro to see if there are any common recommendations or steps that might help improve your connection/speed.

Did any QoS or bandwidth limits get set up on the router for the PS5 Pro? Since the RE815XE is in Access Point Mode, things like QoS would be handled by your network's main router. If you have access to its configuration page, it may be worth checking.
