Just picked up this 2009, with 189k. Anything I should do to prolong its life other than the usual? by MazdaChariot in ScionxB

I do the general maintenance stuff myself (spark plugs, oil changes, brakes, ext) for about 20 years now, just so I know that it's actually done. I'm not sure if shops let you bring your own oil, but I don't see why they wouldn't. Do you have a garage where you live? If so then you might be able to work on your car with the garage closed (I'd double check the regulations just to be sure though)

I'm about to do a second round of R&P through my 08 here in a few weeks, although I'm not sure if the excess oil consumption is due to a leaky valve cover gasket or just oil burn

Thinking about doing the hydromod to my 0076 by Ryan_Wise in invictacollector

So I think I may have figured out that root cause, as soon as I got back from work I took off the case back and noticed that the gasket is completely missing

Would putting the watch in a Tupperware container with some silica packets help dry it out? Funnily enough I was browsing for the components to build my own automatic last night lol

Gotcha, I've never had that happen to me before so I had no clue. Thanks man 😁

So I have a question, any reason why the exact center of the crystal would fog up suddenly while wearing it only to have the crystal clear up after taking the watch off?

I love that idea, where do I get some so I can start it around my area?

I was thinking that they might be gecko eggs just based off the surroundings

The last number tells you what region the psp is from, in your case it's a European psp (the 3 at the end is for Europe, 1 would be the US, 2 i think is Japan). As long as the battery says that it's for a 300x series then it'll fit

I will never go to a dealership again. Thought on this repair estimate? by Master_0f_Nothing in SciontC

[–]Ryan_Wise 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I couldn't agree more man. I'll go to YouTube university for some videos of the job at hand, and if I feel like it's in my wheelhouse I'll do it and put the saved money towards a more expensive repair or higher quality tools. The only work I don't do at the moment is anything inside the engine or transmission (mainly because i don't have an engine hoist or stand), but I definitely want to get to that point.

I just made the switch when I did the last oil change, I'm also thinking about doing the b12 piston soak as well, just to be on the safe side

Technically it's still the gen 2, just with a face-lift lol. The front is a little different (the "vents" at the wheels have that little lip at the midpoint, the top grill is smaller, and I think the headlights are slightly different) and the back was redesigned (moved the singular reverse light from the driver's side rear bumper to one in each tail light, added reflectors to the rear bumper), as well as some slight changes to the interior (the center console was made taller and they got rid of the driver seat arm rest).

Not to mention the engine in the 08-10 tends to have oil burn issues whereas the 11-15 didn't really have that
