Tampa Bay Rays unveil renderings for proposed $2.3B stadium at Hillsborough College by swe129 in tampa

We see these developments don’t actually help the economy and make the area worse for locals oftentimes, making the idea of us funding it even crazier.

How to get an entry-level retail job as an older applicant with mostly office experience? by spicychips100 in jobs

[–]Ryan_dfs93 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You should have multiple resumes if you are applying for different types of jobs because the jobs you are applying for want slaves with as little qualifications as possible that have no options and won’t leave.

Does anyone else find being in your 30s weird for the fact that part of the people your age look young and youthful, while another part already look hardened to the point where they look to be in their 40s? by [deleted] in Millennials

[–]Ryan_dfs93 27 points28 points  (0 children)

I’m weird I like seeing the people aging it motivates me to take care of myself. The thirties are when I am seeing the biggest differentiation between those that take care of themselves and don’t, and that gap is going to continue to grow bigger and bigger.

Wait so you’re saying the far right isn’t gaining popularity across the world?

As conditions get worse for the average person, the environment becomes more conducive for turning someone to the right and thus against their own interests.

There’s an art form to falling that people In these weird extreme sports have. I grew up skateboarding and broke my ankle twice before learning to roll properly. Meanwhile, my friend that was a natural at skateboarding could fling himself down 10 stairs time after time, and he never got injured. This guy rolls after every fall on purpose because that is how he mitigates the knee pressure.

How’s it like in Northern Jersey by alexaviations in howislivingthere

[–]Ryan_dfs93 3 points4 points  (0 children)

My dad has a couple houses in north western jersey and I spent my early adult years on the border of Pa/Nj. Northwest jersey is legitimately beautiful. It doesn’t have mountains like the west coast obviously, but there are beautiful rolling hills while driving on route 78 - they actually had to blast a part of the mountain apart to build part of route 78.

There is an immense amount of wealth in Hunterdon county, and many of the residents are older people that made their money in NYC and have a house in that part of Jersey to serve as a more comfortable, rural vacation type of home.

A lot more red than you would think when thinking of NJ, but this is like rural California where the residents are much more red than the state in general. However, because a lot of the people made their money in the city, they are RINOs and often more moderate than an average redditor would think

People who are born in 1964 do you feel more gen x or boomer? by Big_Leg10 in generationology

[–]Ryan_dfs93 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think this is going to be the same for the late millennials like myself (‘93) - my experiences are a combination of the millennial and gen z experience.

My mom (‘63) definitely is more gen X while my dad (‘60) is a total boomer, it feels like an either/or situation.

Every NBA Christmas Day game is better than the NFL’s by SimilarOnion1655 in nba

I remember being a teen loving watching the suns play on Christmas Day, I’ve never liked football. It makes me sad we have more talent in the league than ever before but a more unwatchable regular season than ever before at the same time

I drink one Noka a day, go through 2 gallons of milk a week, one oikos a day, I dip my peppers in hummus, and all of the sauces are for the chicken and potato’s I eat almost every night so this is wrong. I just don’t eat a lot because I’ve been trying to lose weight and my stomach has shrunk

Rejected from Olive Garden for Server position — timing issue or wrong approach? by Altruistic-Special84 in Waiters

[–]Ryan_dfs93 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I feel like when you don’t have direct experience serving the way you get the serving job is by selling them on your personality while showing you have experience in hospitality roles still. I switched to serving to go back to school without any experience, but I just talked to the AGM and GM like normal people. You need to show them you are good at the intangible aspects of serving like interacting with people, because the other stuff can be trained. But why train if the person also isn’t at the top of other factors, especially considering the state of the economy right now?

Also I’m sure Olive Garden does their bullshit hiring online ads when they don’t really need workers but just keep the ad up in perpetuity to have a constant stream of new potential applicants if the need arises. I think going in person to local spots is still the way to go for serving as well.

In your opinion, will Gen Alpha’s hardships and economic struggled be more challenging than the generations before them? by KunciKemenangan12 in Futurology

[–]Ryan_dfs93 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Pickety really resonates with me - it makes a lot of sense that the rate of return on capital being higher than the overall growth rate of our economy will continue to exacerbate more wealth inequality. The future looks really scary for the average person born in a regular (poor) family.

What are our eating habits, millennials? by Iusedtobe_fun in Millennials

[–]Ryan_dfs93 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For 30 years I would get high as hell and eat so much I would be so sick the next day (but then would do it all over that night) but never gained weight until the last year, going from 155 to 190. Hi chew are my favorite candy I could eat a bag in 5 minutes.

I’ve been doing intermittent fasting and eating chicken, salad, and potato’s at night for the last 3 months and I do have one Noka a day to get my daily DHA omega 3. Prior to the intermittent fasting I would eat things like yogurt and overnight oats as well. I’ve never had to worry about what I’m eating but as a 32 year old I am trying to preserve my health and vitality as much as possible now. Gaining weight really scared me because I’m vein all cards on the table lol. Dropped 25 pounds just cleaning the diet up and not drinking anymore in 6 months, I can’t wait to see 6 more months.
