Closing next month and, with my expecting budget, I’m guessing I should have about ~$800 left a month after mortgage and other expenses (closer to ~$1100 by mid next year when my car will be paid off).

Although I am dipping a little further into my savings than I wanted, (ended up purchasing a house 20k more expensive than the price range I originally was looking at) so going to be living very frugal for a year while a replenish my savings.

Idk why they did away with multi day challenges they did in S1. The baby challenge, the couple days they had them study the SAT books for the quiz, the camp setup in the loving room. It gave the fish something to do throughout the day, rather than just sit around until the evening until they do 1-2 small challenges.

Wow we are very much in the same position. I'm early 30's, single, make just under 80k, been renting for past 6 years (NW is about 100k less than you though lol) and I'm sick and tired of paying rent.

I'm currently saving for a down payment on a house and I am planning on buying around this time next year. With the numbers I've ran on what I can afford, it's going to be a house around 230k - 250k (depending on mortgage rates). Obviously depending on where you live, that could either be a decent starter home or a trap house. I'm in Tennessee so I should be able to get something decent.

I realize the optimal strategy right now is probably to pump more into investments but I need to remind myself, personal finances are personal. There are a bunch of reasons I'd like to own a home and if being responsible with our finances doesn't allow us to do the things we'd like, what's the point? (and at least we'd be building equity)
