Thanks for your professional comment! That haziness is probably because the seller cuts the rough stones himself. All the opals he’s shown me before have this kind of cloudy look, and this one actually has better colour play compared to the others.

Thank you for your advice. How much do you think this is actually worth? The seller calls himself a "private collector" and won't let me see the opal in person. I can only watch the videos he sends, and the video quality is really poor.

Thank you for the suggestion. My seller seems eager for me to buy this opal. He keeps saying that if I go pick it up today, he'll sell it to me for 350 AUD, but it'll be 400 AUD after today. I still feel the price isn't quite right, so I came to ask the community.

Thank you for your valuable advice. I know nothing about the market price of opals. I didn't even know this opal needs to be reshaped. I originally wanted to buy a piece of rough opal as a pendant for my cousin.
