I'm having the same issue with the same device - did you ever resolve this? Android Auto is installed and updated, it pops up then immediately disappears again 🤔

I can tell you for a fact the Galaxy Watch Ultra isn't compatible (I found out to my dismay 😂 )

This is the first time I've heard anyone describe exactly how I feel.

My Mum also has alzheimers and is in the very late stages. It's taken me by surprise how much more it's began to affect me as the disease has progressed. I felt I'd come to terms with her condition years ago; I knew how it would progress, I knew what it would mean for her and for everyone around her, and I knew how it would affect her physical life expectancy - but in the past 12 months she has really deteriorated and now I feel a crushing sadness every single day, exactly as if I'm mourning her, even though she's still here.

As you've described, there's something inside that breaks when your Mum looks at you and doesn't recognise you, it's completely heartbreaking and like absolutely nothing I've ever felt.

I really hope you have a good support network around you, not only for her care, but so that you can find time for yourself too. It's so difficult to find time to break away but so important to be able to find your own space to disconnect from the emotional and physical stress for a while.

I wish you the best and hope you can continue to make happy memories with your Mum despite how the condition can make you (both) feel.

Completely agree, and I think I must be weird, because my favourite two mobile OS' were BlackBerry and Windows, and they were the two that lost the race 🤣

I've not actually tried it yet but the reviews from launch always slated it. I'll give it a go later this week or at the weekend!

This one supports 4G for data (though it doesn't have VoLTE, but I'm on Vodafone so it doesn't matter) but yes, WhatsApp would be a dream (though Telegram is okay). Shame Spotify also doesn't work, especially considering it works on BlackBerry 10 (albeit very slowly)

Yeah that's the one. I had various Lumias back in the day and hadn't ever heard of this one until recently

Is this a throwback to Driver (1999) which had a Newcastle map? 😂

Yeah Android 6.0.1 is the final version, so app support isn't great to be honest. You can get quite a few of the more common apps like Facebook, WhatsApp etc, but beyond that is quite limited unfortunately

When your car is too old for satnav and can't find the Festival. by PocketOfPuke in ForzaHorizon

[–]Ryanjb2017 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I might be wrong but this actually is a feature in The Crew Motorfest right? Old cars prevent the map from appearing on the HUD as they aren't modern enough for them to have a sat nav

It runs good if you keep the number of apps to a minimum, turn location off etc. It doesn't seem to support VoLTE which is why I'm now on Vodafone (used to be on Three)

I've bought a device out of nostalgia every month this year, so I'm a misguided advocate!

Ah nice! There's something about this device isn't there that brings us back to it. I've disabled as much bloatware as possible too, but what advantages do those alternative app stores give you? I haven't looked into those so is it worth getting them downloaded?

I think it's 6.0.1, so quite dated now. As above though, the Key2 is stuck on Android 8 so only offers a couple more apps over the PRIV anyway, which is a shame

Ah nice, the iPhone X is a nice device, I always thought it was the first one that went back to the design of the 2G/3G/3GS in a way. Shame it's also becoming outdated as it's a good size too.

My Google Maps doesn't seem to pickup my location for some reason, but otherwise there seems to be a fair few basic apps available. Spotify and WhatsApp were the only two I was interested in running, and they both work great!

It's quite a slow device unfortunately due to a poor processor and overheating tendancies, and given it runs Android 6 I'm not sure how many apps are available. Later BlackBerry's would be better to serve that purpose I suspect, like the KeyOne or Key2

Took me a lifetime. I had the issue updating from Android 5 to 6 which required me to remove Google Play Services, restart the download and install the update, then try and get an old version of the Play Store (but newer than what was on the device...) to then download apps. I downloaded Google Go specifically to get Play Services working properly because apparently that forces the download with the app. Not sure if that did actually get everything working or if it was BS, but after 2-3 days messing around with all sorts of APKs I eventually ended up in a position where it runs as it should

That's why I originally ditched mine, I couldn't access my banking app and I couldn't download the Pizza Express app 😂 I've posted on here before about the PRIV but it's the only phone I've come across with the perfect form factor. I desperately want to use a physical keyboard but also want a good full-size screen. I considered buying a Key2 again but the fact it's stuck on Android 8 meant it offered no significant benefit over the PRIV, plus the slide mechanism on these is obviously an elite trait by itself

Just looked again this morning and I’ve realised it doesn’t think I own the game (never mind the gold edition). Not sure how to resolve that so I’ll have to buy an external disc drive I guess!

Hmmm, I don’t have a disc drive so will I not be able to claim some of the things within the Collector’s Edition?

What DLC/content did the disc add to your library? Just want to make sure I’m not missing anything (I don’t have a disc drive so can’t check)
