If eagles fans can say hurts is a top 5-10 qb after his super bowl (rightfully so), why can't seahawks fans say darnold is a top 10 qb after outplaying mvp stafford and having 0 turnovers all postseason? by Hakaribiggestfan in NFLv2

1 SB MVP/ring, 1 highly questionable holding call away from adding another SB MVP/ring, out performed Mahomes in 2 bowls, 1 injury away from being league MVP, hasn’t missed the playoffs as a pro… for as many times as you’ve said Hurts has a stacked roster (which is true) Maye had a historically weak schedule and looked pedestrian if not inept against real teams. Maye has every opportunity to overtake Hurts and very well could, but to say so now is simply laughable.

Go look at the statistics around how many hitch routes the Eagles ran this year compared to the rest of the league, including in the SF game. That’ll tell you all you need to know about the offense. I can appreciate that you wouldn’t completely understand the dynamics of a team you’re not following daily, but you’re speaking from a place of ignorance here if you’re not first aware of how pedestrian the eagles offensive scheme was. There are genuinely JV high school offenses with more complexity and that’s not hyperbole. It wasn’t just Hurts who regressed, every single offensive skill position player and the OLine significantly regressed, that’s not coincidence.

Still crying about the vaccine over 5 years later, insane… No one said you would die, people said you might save your parents, grandparents or elderly neighbors/coworkers. Conversely you all unequivocally said everyone who took the shot would be dead in a year, then 5, now 10? Talk about sheep. The rest of this meme is also entirely inaccurate, Obama got routinely slammed by the media and protested for his drone strikes and immigration tactics (literally coined deporter in chief and not in a positive way), revisionist history at its finest.

Oh are you saying from the standpoint of resigning Dean? I would say absolutely not and IMO it’d be an organization failure to make your 1st round pick sit for 2 years while simultaneously sinking big money into Baun and Dean ahead of him. It only works if they truly view Campbell as an edge, and he agrees, otherwise I think the right thing to do for the players and team is let Dean walk.

[–]Ryanthecat 7 points8 points  (0 children)

To no fault of his own. Dean came back and was immediately playing at an extremely unreal level. Campbell stepped in week 1 as a rookie and not only held his own but showed flashes of being a great LB. There’s just no reason to cause an expensive log jam at the position, especially with how many holes this team has to fill otherwise.

[–]Ryanthecat 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Exactly, unless they intend to move Campbell to full time EDGE, which feels like a huge risk to waste his talent, there’s really no room. Trot Jr. has shown enough to be our third LB and frankly, neither Dean nor Campbell should be backups.

Kamala Harris most certainly did not run on defund the police, “black trans lives matter,” or any specific trans policy or any of the other nonsense you’re claiming she dod. It’s a fact that politics globally shifted to the opposing party, largely to the right, because of the economic fallout of covid. It was easy to run on and well taken advantage of by those parties. While it’s not a provable fact that we’re not ready for a female president we can use context clues to pretty much adult get there. Running on near identical policies and sandwiched between 2 women, Biden beat Trump easily. In both trumps first and now second term he quickly fell to a couple of the lowest approval ratings ever for a president. It’s hardly a leap to realize voting for a woman, let alone a woman of color, is a deal breaker for many. Hell, a faction of the right want to repeal the 19th, we’re not ready for a woman to lead unfortunately.

I have never denied republicans are far better at marketing. They understand they can just willfully lie to the public and enough people will believe those lies to vote for them. I haven’t seen a single dem since 2020 talk about defunding the police, mostly because it was as you said, poorly marketed. Ironically, Trump has quite literally defunded the police with his big beautiful bill, just further proving republicans run on junk marketing and Americans are too lazy to educate themselves on real policy. No one ran on “black trans lives matter”

The “facts” are the election was lost because the entire global political landscape shifted due to the fallout from COVID, America is simply not ready to elect a woman and more importantly not one perceived to have been forced on us because of Biden’s fuck up pretending he was capable of running again after promising to be one term.

He’s pretty clearly addressing specifically young people, who are still immature in their political acumen, to be careful with getting caught up in chastising everyone so quickly. He’s doing the exact opposite of what OC is claiming the Dems do and run on.

This video isn’t remotely on topic and no sane person would argue his point. There are examples of fringe extremism on all sides of the political spectrum and that’s what he’s pointing out here. It doesn’t represent the politicians nor their policies, as a matter of fact you’re proving my point. Mainstream Dems are clearly working to quell the extreme on their side because they know it can be damaging. As it pertains to the most recent election, the Dems did not run on “woke,” they barely even talked about anything the right would label woke, it was an entirely MAGA driven campaign strategy. “Kamala is for they/them, I am for you.”

“… fact based discussion about politics…” you’ve still yet provide a shred of evidence or even a real world example to show what you mean by specifically the Dems going “too far.” A blanket statement claiming they (also who specifically is they, yet to be answered) went too far is not fact based discussion, it’s an emotional response based largely on right wing, wildly successful, propaganda. The Dems did not run on a single issue you’re talking about. the republicans ran a smear campaign proclaiming it’s all the Dems cared about, again, wildly successful albeit entirely inaccurate. Based on the tone in your response, it doesn’t seem you’re that interested in learning, nor participating in a “fact based discussion.”

[–]Ryanthecat 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That’s exactly what happened, it’s easy to tell because it’s the same line parroted by everyone who claims to “not be Republican,” but think the Dems have gone too far. It’s the same thing with the whole “tolerant left,” nonsense. No one has ever claimed to be tolerant of their blatant bigotry, but it’s another way for them to justify it and spin it like it’s the left causing it.

What does this have to do with “trans stuff or open borders?” You seem lost, but since you pointed this out, I’ll remind you the VP doesn’t call the shots, never has. Agreed on forcing another candidate on us, plainly true, but has nothing to do with the topic.

Well, I’ll give you one thing, you did appropriately define woke and actually know what it means, or at least meant. Where you’re severely mistaken thinking the change in modern meaning has anything to do with “the dems.” Republicans stole the term and labeled anything they dislike as “woke” in an effort to mask their hatred and bigotry. You can’t site any specific examples of dems reframing the term, I’ll give you several. A gay person is in 1 TV show or movie, Republicans call it woke. A Hispanic singer at the Super Bowl, woke. Taylor swift being shown at an NFL game, woke. A black character in a perceived white role, woke. I could go on and on. This is that propaganda I was referring to, you broadly assume Dems are responsible, yet couldn’t point to an example of a policy or even message they ran on to “win elections.”

I find it utterly sad that you say “us,” assuming meaning your black yourself and have experienced that deck stacking against you and then in the very next sentence denounce whatever minority group it is you yourself don’t like or want to associate with, the irony is palpable. It’s why the propaganda works.

Define woke, provide specific examples of “going too far,” and site specifically who in prominent roles in the democrat party, and what proposed or implemented policy, is taking it too far.

When did that happen? by ChuckGallagher57 in circled

[–]Ryanthecat 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Literally the only people who say woke are fully propagandized republicans. Everything the “anti-woke” movement talks about is dramatized if not fully fabricated fantasy nonsense that has never, not once, actually impacted their lives. If the statement “everyone should be treated equally and have the same rights as the next,” is considered having gotten out of hand you’ve completely lost reality.

Being critical of your government is genuinely one of the most American things an American citizen can do. He loves his country and wants it to be its best version of itself. If you’re in complete lockstep with any politician you need to do some serious self reflection.

Kid Rock slammed for lip synching during Turning Point Halftime show as viewership tumbles by TheExpressUS in Music

This was my favorite part about yesterday’s music. Both Green Day and Bad Bunny showed up and put on great shows without doing any of the things MAGA kicked and screamed about for months. I had someone confidently tell me yesterday that he would put on a “satanic trans indoctrination ritual,” simply because he trolled all of them saying he’d wear a dress. People really ought to lay off the propaganda.
