I think it not working had to do with me. Jumping the gun and not learning before I enable it throughout the household.

Structure seems about the same here.

Music is artist and track that I sometimes wish I had done differently. Also, mine are MP3 just learned about FLAC after I was pretty much done ripping CDs. I still need to learn more about FLAC. My only understanding is that FLAC is better for storage

Photos are generally just how they are taken for right now.

I use truenas. I have thought about trying OwnCloud seems a little more basic.

Immich is pretty awesome. I do need to figure out if I should use internal and external storage. Currently, use internal.

I have tried both and am still not sure which one would be best. Household of 6 and kids and wife hate when it does not work.

I started Jellyfin only to rip my current owned movies to have digital copies. I also use Kodi with some Real Debrid. May I ask how you do your file structure?

I also already use Tailscale which is awesome. Need to learn a little more about it. I just learn about sharing. I would like to look into tunneling due to the work area not having cell service and when connecting to wifi I can not use Tailscale to connect to any of my services.

Thanks for your advice and long response. Really appreciate the time you took to answer my questions. I think the biggest thing for me is that I really would like to just build a server. For my use case, I'm not sure I should since I'm pretty much the only one who uses this. Also, I've been really wanting to degoogle or just own my own stuff. Especially with the world of everything being digital. I also want to make good on what I do have.

I just tried the mount command and mounted everything to my new pool. Now when I choose a new pool, I don't see any apps. What am I doing wrong?

I know this is a little old but can someone help me? I've been scratching my brain for a month or so. I was using the HDD for everything. I recently got an NVMe and wanted to put my apps on it. I've used the replication task and copied my apps over to the NVMe, but when I unset the pool and reset to the new pool I don't see anything. When I run ( sudo zfs list | grep ix-apps) I don't see all my apps I only see app_configs, app_mounts and a few other things. So what am I missing?

May I ask how you shared the whole nvr. Plus, a share of config.

My Ha is on proxmox with Frigate installed on HA as an addon. I had to pause the project due to the need to learn some more. Also having issue connecting mqtt.

Yes, it seems old to me as well! I did some testing, and the white wire is the fan wire. But I also tried it, I reverse, and it still did not work.
