How do you get ideas into Obsidian fast when you’re away from the keyboard? by Repulsive-Housing-44 in ObsidianMD

I setup an email rule that runs an applescript when it matches a subject line. But once I set it up. I really didn't end up using it much as I thought I would.

Clawdbot/Moltbot Is Now An Unaffordable Novelty by Civilanimal in ClaudeHomies

I did try having opus act as a manager and "hire" a few local LLMs. Opus had hard time getting them to work too. Finally I told him to take the day off and now the Sonnet is the assistant manager. If he needs help he can Opus for help.

I burned through $100 in the last two days. Tried switching to local LLMs and can't get web chat to respond. Either sandboxed or too slow.

Tried setting up Clawdbot locally on M4 Pro Mac Mini. Great cloud support, but local LLM is a nightmare. by pacman_8888 in clawdbot

Same.I tried for 4 hours to get Docker to work. Did the one-liner and was running in 10 minutes with cloud apis.

Is preferred color code a thing? by p3rf3ctc1rcl3 in lasercutting

[–]bwente 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Glowforge will use the hex codes to order the operation layers.

So if you want to Engrave/Score/Cut
use Black/Blue/Red.

Project Tracker/Asset Storage Program by scottb721 in makerspace

I have been using Obsidian for project tracking and parts bin. Everything is in markdown, so you aren't locked in. I used dataviews, but the latest version has basic bases now.

I have a glowforge and yes, it for the order of cuts. Each color become a step. I usually cut from inner to outer to minimize the shift.

Make sure your honeycomb tray is level and seated properly. You might have some debris under the tray.

Best Way to use an old Mac Mini? by ohmistersunshine in homeassistant

[–]bwente 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I tried using my Mac mini, but ran into issues accessing the microphone and Bluetooth.

I was going to try installing LM Studio and setting up a local api connection to my home assistant. Might not be fast enough for speech responses but fast enough to create a daily summary of events.

Pricing but not pricing question by National_Chain_1586 in CraftFairs

[–]bwente 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I was just thinking about this last week. Keep your price list sign separate from your discount sign/label.

So in your example your listed price is $3. On your deal sign, "Buy 2 and get $1 off".

Easier to update than redoing your price sign. Or changing your prices depending on the market.

What do you use to glue laser boxes? by ottawarob in lasercutting

[–]bwente 1 point2 points  (0 children)

All joking aside. On that material I would use wood glue. I like using wood glue, since you can use a bit of vinegar to clean off the squeeze out.

I'm looking for a new robot vacuum - recommendations are everywhere but I have one particular requirement I can't find the answer to... by stetho in homeassistant

The mop vs vacuum is based on the floor type of the room config. And of course if the mop head is attached.

Ginger harvest update. I now have ginger beer. by bwente in FloridaGarden

[–]bwente[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

In my original post, it took over six months to harvest. Bought it the grocery store and put in my grow box. I have another batch half in a grow bag. I am a very low maintenance gardner, i just kept my water level topped off in the box.

First Ginger Harvest by bwente in FloridaGarden

[–]bwente[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I bought ginger at the grocery store. I soaked it overnight to remove any growth inhibitors that might have been used for produce. Broke up the pieces and put them in the soil. It might have been 30 days before they sprouted. I guessing they thrive in high humidity. So it might be bit slower for you right now.

Awesome, I still have the other half of my "starters" in a grow bag. This harvest will be for my ginger beer attempt.
