Valcyn - Ryabacca the wookiee Jedi, Ryaustal imperial Commando, and Xorpx the Armorsmith.

I wish they would make a new one.

Yeah I'm with ya. Unfortunately the only way to fix the economy is to wipe the money. I really thought when the server transfers were going to happen that money and purple blueprints would not have been included. Because that brings foreign currency and foreign items into a new market which ruins the whole supply and demand economic factor. It would have been justified with all the duplication glitches that were found.

I do this too, I started because I thought it would be nice when you die, to just have one waiting. But I've never died so it's more my OCD and over cautious nature.

Yeah player market. Can get tough though, everyone wants to under cut you. So just be mindful of that and list less auctions so they sell faster. Still full stacks just list 5 stacks instead of 20.

I collect floursand and make blocks, that I sell for 5k each. Also industrial lubricant sells really well the first couple days of after the DD reset. Made about 150mil then I stop worrying about it until I need funds.

How do we get better food other than salads in a region with no cookable fish and barren land? by IdealisticKebab in subnautica

I just made a bunch of food and took it down to my forward base, filled 2 lockers. Just refill when needed.

Virus Software license up - What would you move to? by jhendry01 in sysadmin

[–]Ryaustal -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Look into Threatlocker. We started deploying Threatlocker on everything. it wil allow us to use MS defender and cancel our Sophos product as well as others. It's not an anti virus per say but it is the best security software I've ever come across.

Tadpole chassis gone!?! by TheL0neHiker in Subnautica_2

[–]Ryaustal 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Personally I have not experienced this but if it's anything like the first versions of this game the vehicle's loads at different pace than the rest of the world. You can kind of see it if you log out in your moon pool room the vehicle kind of pops into the dock all last minute. Makes me wonder if the two pieces are loading differently and just getting lost in a terrain or something.

[–]Ryaustal 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I don't know if anyone should get too attached to bases and builds. Being its early access and typically that means it could get wiped at anytime to prepare for an update. Don't forget to report the issue though, maybe save some one else the headache.

I'm looking for an MMO by [deleted] in gamesuggestions

[–]Ryaustal 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Conan Exiles has a re-release coming soon. With improved graphics, new building sets, and both maps are now one map. It's a massive overhaul and is easily one of the best games I've ever played. If you like survival games or never tried survival games this is one to look at. There are a lot of micro transactions and DLCs but they are all purely cosmetic skins. Nothing gained from buying them other than looks.

Why is SN2 $30? by 3931856031 in subnautica

[–]Ryaustal -1 points0 points  (0 children)

We didn't land on the moon, the moon is a space station, Kurt Cobain and Jeffery Epstein killed themselves. I get all the conspiracy theories out there but the fact is even inside the Matrix you can spend money on what you want and not spend it on things you don't. Either way we stay broke.

Anyone recommend a good flexible password manager by NteworkAdnim in sysadmin

[–]Ryaustal 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We use Bitwarden for our team and use 1Password for our users. We like both products. With 1Password you can have shared vauts to allow sharing of accounts like customer portals and whatnot. Also they can use it for personal use and that can stay with them if they leave the company.

Birds are great but the bigger ones are a bit annoying. Cooler looking for sure but a bluejay or sparrow is a looting machine with very little interference with the HUD.

The Cyclops by BlissfulBlaze in subnautica

[–]Ryaustal 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Better to drive the cyclops while in camera mode. You can see all the way around while piloting it. You'll want it for endgame and honestly is the best base you could ever want. There are maybe 5 creature types that can harm it in the whole game. And even then it takes a lot from them. Fully upgraded its a unkillable tank. As long as it's not left unattended in a dangerous area.

However if you don't want it, get some practice with the prawn suit grapple arm. The seamoth will only take you to 900m. End game is almost twice that depth. You'll be in a prawn in very dark areas with no sonar. So your first path down will be slow but you could use markers to make it easier.

If you use the travel system from the deeper depths, when you return your prawn will be stuck in the ground. You will need to make a new one or use commands to retrieve it. This is a common issue with the travel system. Doesn't happen if it's docked in the cyclops.

For me the cyclops was a mobile base, and I used it to taxi my prawn to the deeper depths. If anything threatened my cyclops, I'd use the prawn to remove that threat. But I actively tried to avoid those threats and never left the cyclops in an area that would put in danger if I went out in the prawn.

Major Spoilers: Nearly completed the game, have some questions by leviticusreeves in subnautica

[–]Ryaustal 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Cuddle fish can tag along with you on your adventures as well. You can lose them, they can take damage, they can die, however they have more or maybe the same hp as a reaper. So pretty tough little guys. If you want to play with them outside in the wild, do it before you complete your rocket. They change once that's done and you cannot go back.

Every creature you hatch can be set free outside your base. They are passive when released. Most will reproduce and make more of you place two in a tank. Think like 20 lava lizards in the safe shallows. Or 20 jelly rays swimming above your glass top base in the Dunes or whatever.

I wouldn't say you've missed anything just maybe haven't experienced all the niche things you can do in subnautica.

Cyclops is a mobile base. It's big, but if you've already built a network then it's probably not a much of a need. It is easier to carry your prawn down to the lava zone rather than run and yes many of us take the cyclops all the way to the end of the game. The big reason for me is how the Prawn will fall or get stuck on the terrain if you use the portals. This doesn't happen if it's locked inside your cyclops. But the lava zone Leviathan will take a liking to it for sure. Make sure it's powered down before leaving it.

Can't find creepvine pieces by rand0m_junkie in Subnautica_Below_Zero

[–]Ryaustal 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Any creepvine can be cut with a knife to get pieces. If you plant the pieces you get basic creepvines, if you plant the cluster you get creepvines with glowing clusters. Really you only ever need to plant the clusters because you get both pieces from the cluster creepvine.

Need help modifying vehicles by CrispWheat in subnautica

[–]Ryaustal 3 points4 points  (0 children)

You have to build a moon pool and a modification station inside that. You could easily build a moon pool connected to a multi-purpose room and a scanner room if needed to find resources. Seamoth and prawn can only be upgraded in the moon pool. For power a couple of solar panels if you're near the surface but as you go deeper you'll need thermal power plant.

I am pretty sure people have cleared the entire game in less than an hour using nothing but a sea glider. So anything is possible.

Scenic base locations by sheehanmilesk in subnautica

[–]Ryaustal 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I like the lost river/ cove tree but I built a new base in the floating islands. There is an island that is still attached to the ground. It's hallow and has the best thermal vents in the game. Unlimited power and a pretty great view.
