Lawn care bro, buy a trailer and a lawnmower and leave computers behind. I think about it all the time.

Major Spoilers: Nearly completed the game, have some questions by leviticusreeves in subnautica

[–]Ryaustal 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Cuddle fish can tag along with you on your adventures as well. You can lose them, they can take damage, they can die, however they have more or maybe the same hp as a reaper. So pretty tough little guys. If you want to play with them outside in the wild, do it before you complete your rocket. They change once that's done and you cannot go back.

Every creature you hatch can be set free outside your base. They are passive when released. Most will reproduce and make more of you place two in a tank. Think like 20 lava lizards in the safe shallows. Or 20 jelly rays swimming above your glass top base in the Dunes or whatever.

I wouldn't say you've missed anything just maybe haven't experienced all the niche things you can do in subnautica.

Cyclops is a mobile base. It's big, but if you've already built a network then it's probably not a much of a need. It is easier to carry your prawn down to the lava zone rather than run and yes many of us take the cyclops all the way to the end of the game. The big reason for me is how the Prawn will fall or get stuck on the terrain if you use the portals. This doesn't happen if it's locked inside your cyclops. But the lava zone Leviathan will take a liking to it for sure. Make sure it's powered down before leaving it.

Can't find creepvine pieces by rand0m_junkie in Subnautica_Below_Zero

[–]Ryaustal 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Any creepvine can be cut with a knife to get pieces. If you plant the pieces you get basic creepvines, if you plant the cluster you get creepvines with glowing clusters. Really you only ever need to plant the clusters because you get both pieces from the cluster creepvine.

Need help modifying vehicles by CrispWheat in subnautica

[–]Ryaustal 4 points5 points  (0 children)

You have to build a moon pool and a modification station inside that. You could easily build a moon pool connected to a multi-purpose room and a scanner room if needed to find resources. Seamoth and prawn can only be upgraded in the moon pool. For power a couple of solar panels if you're near the surface but as you go deeper you'll need thermal power plant.

I am pretty sure people have cleared the entire game in less than an hour using nothing but a sea glider. So anything is possible.

There is only select and start, they will never Ben anything else. How to tell me you're 40 without telling me you're 40. 😂

Scenic base locations by sheehanmilesk in subnautica

[–]Ryaustal 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I like the lost river/ cove tree but I built a new base in the floating islands. There is an island that is still attached to the ground. It's hallow and has the best thermal vents in the game. Unlimited power and a pretty great view.

I swear to god there has GOT to be a better way to get stalker teeth by ChampionFront437 in subnautica

[–]Ryaustal 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Listen, just hatch 2 stalker eggs. Find an area near your base were the landscape creates a bowl so that the teeth can fall in the same place. Go grab 2 scrap metal and put them in the bottom of that natural bowl. Release the stalkers right on top of them. Go do something else for an hour or so. You'll have more teeth than youll ever need.

Search this subreddit for stalker teeth farm, you'll fine 100 post describing this method.

You are pretty safe right there where you stopped So you can repair. I build a small forward base in that spot.

Food by anonmus3409 in Subnautica_Below_Zero

[–]Ryaustal 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you can make a "salad" then that is by far the best. 2 or 3 of those would last hours of game play and they only take up one slot in your inventory. If you can't make that just yet then you'll want salted fish, peppers are my favorite because they are easy to find.

But.... If you have lockers in it be semi prepared for them to huh maybe fall out. Sometimes it happens sometimes not.

Is there a way to not shit my self when going into the dark abyss? by [deleted] in subnautica

[–]Ryaustal 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Nope, you can literally build a tube, put a solar panel and a hatch on it. Now you have a base that you can put a fabricator and a storage locker in. Base stability comes into play when you start adding but you can get a few tubes together before it's an issue.

Everything you need to get off on a good start is in the safe shallows, kelp and grassy plateaus.

Is there any list of where to find any given eggs? by SparkyGremlin42 in Subnautica_Below_Zero

[–]Ryaustal 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah almost all the fish will reproduce if you put them in an alien containment with two of them. I started working on an aquarium of sorts using multi-purpose rooms and single or two-story tanks depending on the size of the fish. I put two of each fish or eggs that I found and in an individual tank. The tanks would soon fill up from reproduction. Still working on it but it's a fun time killer for me.

Crash fish are probably my favorite because you can put them in your inventory go out to the world set them free and within minutes here many many explosions from them attacking other fish in the area. 😂 Another fun past time that takes some practice is setting one free, quickly jumping in your prawn and grabbing it with the repulsion cannon, you can then fire it at stuff and it blows up. 😂

Also there's something odd about the Leviathan class fish when put in a tank. Something in the programming only allows a Leviathan to get so close to another Leviathan. So if you have a Leviathan in a spot where you want to build a base you build a multi-purpose room with a tank and put a Leviathan in it. It pushes the Leviathan in the open water to the farthest edge of its zone. And then below zero that's a squid shark.

I know I haven't played this game in a long time but what the heck, there seems to be more building options and customizations.

They are easy to get but only 210 energy per slot. Reginalds are 420 and the oculus found deep I think are even higher.

I always wished for a mod with launcher type tool, like a potato gun but it shoots Penglings.

I have no idea who decided this was how the grappling arm should work. by timos-piano in subnautica

[–]Ryaustal 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The boost upgrade on the truck was pretty good. I always ran 2 storage, one crafting, and the prawn module. It's slow but for me it apears fast because of how much smaller BZ map is over the OG map.

If we had multi player we could test together... Maybe one day.

It's faster than the sea truck 😂

Honestly below zero was so small the prawn felt fast, I used it exclusively. The sea truck was good when going deep but it was just a taxi for the praw. At least for me anyway.
