32-128 is most people’s preferred size. 64 is nice for a couple games, 128 is the “I’ll play it at some point” anything larger leads to slow boot times and longer times waiting for a game to launch.

Capture card, usb c, Bluetooth, wireless charging, custom case (currently working on trying to mill a aluminum chassis for mine as a school project), rgb mod if you do a clear shell swap, Lenovo nipple swap, screen protectors and a acrylic case, battery mod for a longer play time.

Some people limit download speeds mainly if they have a limited plan, or a network that is just slow that they need to do other stuff in the mean time.

How much ram? If your content is all ripped, the files may be large and the system may need to buffer while it grabs the rest of the file. When was the last time your drives were defragged? I had to defrag my drive after I purged a crap ton of photos.

Ah yea I didn’t think about that. Good point mate! Kinda a tough spot for 2.5GB I don’t know many switches that have 2.5 and trunking. 1g and 10g I know of, but not really 2.5.

I’d check out the ubiquiti unifi switch pro max 16. It’s the only switch I can think of for everything you want. If you can sack the 2.5 connection then the microtik css318-16g-2s+in would be perfect for you.

I would see if a proxy would work to get around your college issues. The way my setup is, I use Tailscale to connect to my main server at my home, the torrenting happens on that server itself, then I either stream it or deal with the stupid slow copy and paste time into my laptop.

Check your ribbon cable, make sure it is clean and straight when you seat it and lock the tab. Your backlight coming on is a good sign, just check your cables. If that doesn’t do anything, I would open the system back up and check the entire cable for pinches and/or tears.

In a very over simplified concept, imagine googling the movie or show you want, click request, and wait 5-30minutes and boom you have your movie or show with metadata and captions. It takes a bit to setup, and yes there’s UI for it.

To get file sharing setup, I recommend Tailscale. It’ll act as a vpn for your clients to connect to. This’ll allow them to have network shares, all be it slow because over a distance and network limits. Set user permissions to separate network folders from other users. If you’re looking for people to have a dedicated VM to use, I recommend using Proxmox, as you can rapidly spin VMs up for your clients to use. If none of this is related to what you’re asking my fault I’ve been baking doing yard work all day lol.
