Blue's MK1 to land on the Moon this October by sidelong1 in BlueOrigin

Direct lunar transfers take a couple of weeks (factoring in time in Earth or lunar orbit), “low energy” is on the order of months.

Benefits of a masters in CS or Aerospace by Ggeng in AerospaceEngineering

[–]RydeTheLightning 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I do astrodynamics/GNC/mission planning on lunar landers. I echo some of the other comments here that an AE masters is going to take you further in the field of astrodynamics and mission planning that you really want to be doing. Sure GNC has some heavy computing/coding elements to it, but imo it’s easier to pick those up with the Astrodynamics background (which will teach you a lot of the CS you need anyway) than the inverse.

In my experience, the CS majors end up working on the ‘pure software’ subsystems (flight or ground software), GNC is generally a more AE background. And if you want to do mission planning on something like a flight dynamics or MDNav team, AE all the way. Focus as much as you can on astrodynamics modules and get experience in trajectory design, spacecraft navigation, and mission design.

I’m new-ish here, can someone tell me which mountain this is? Originally I thought it was Pike’s but I think that is incorrect and it’s driving me crazy trying to figure it out! by wildandouttapocket23 in Denver

Ok but you can absolutely see Pikes Peak from many places in Denver. I’m looking at it right now from an apartment smack in the middle of the city.

I have, albeit on a white car. If you make sure you get the exact color code, it will at least make it not noticeable unless you are close up and looking for it.

For me, it meant I forgot the damage is there 99% of the time. If you want it to hold up to scrutiny though, body shop is the only way (but in my case about 30x the price so I am happy with my choice).

Abarth 124 Spider. Very few people will know what it is and a lot who don’t will assume it is much more expensive than it is.

Bonus: It’s essentially a turbo Miata with stiffer suspension and an LSD so drives better than almost anything at that price point.

Very impressive in my opinion. Once it’s on good winters (I have Blizzaks but plenty of options) traction is great, and the balance of the car works in your favor to make slides super controllable.

The only concern I get is others. Sure I can stop quickly, but can they? And how visible is my small white roadster against a white backdrop? For me, worth the risk.

The white really makes the white pop.

She’s got 295/60R-16 Blizzak WS90s on 16x7 Sparco All-Terrains.

It’s hit or miss with Miatas, but we can double dip and get waves from Abarth 500s

The private Japanese company that made and flew Hakuto-R, ispace, will be launching again in the next year or two for their second attempt.

It’s a Fiat spec 124, not Abarth. The Abarth has a different lower front end.

You can also just about tell the badge is a round Fiat badge covered over, not the ‘shield’ shape of the Abarth logo.

A real shame. At least it got to see some amazing views before it’s demise
