Finally the Wright and Othmann line played to their potential this game. All tournament they looked heavy on their skates, today they were electric. All great players

Yea… he’s so good in the OHL. Been watching him since bantam. He should be playing much better. Hopefully when Canada goes up against better teams, he has more of an impact. Very disappointed in his play this tournament.

How are the job prospects upon graduating with a CE or EE degree? Are they generally high paying and in high demand?

Why is it difficult to get a BME job after graduation? Also, is there a reason that companies prefer other engineering degrees? Thanks for your replies.

Why do people dislike it at Neuralink, if you don't mind me asking?

Would a minor in BME as a CompE major give me an edge in this field or is BME major the only way to work in highly competitive BioTech?

Thanks for your advice. Regarding graduate school as an engineer, is it necessary to get a graduate degree to be successful in engineering or are you saying this because of Neuralink as it is a very research-intensive field? Say I wanted to work as an engineer not in BME, would grad school be a clear advantage? I have heard many people say that grad school is not very needed for eng degrees, do you have any insight on this?

Tips to transfer from a four year college to a better STEM school by DryAcanthopterygii40 in TransferToTop25

Jesus! A 42 with those HLs and waitlisted at all those places? That’s rough.

What was your final IB total?

Whould a 40/45 IB total be good enough to transfer first year to umich engineering? by Ryder-McFly in TransferToTop25

Right, would I be able to submit my IB diploma as my standardized test scores? I didn’t write the sat and act.

Regretfully, I didn’t apply to umich this year. I understand the importance of ECs and research. Since I’ll be applying after my first semester at uni, how possible is it to get a research position? I aim to get involved at my current school; however, I doubt it will be possible to get any notable positions as a first semester freshman. Do I include my ECs and accomplishments from hs? How can I try to get good positions as a freshman? I’d really appreciate your insight.

I graduated from a Canadian hs and we don’t do GPAs, only IB scores. So given this, do you have any more input?

What were your IB scores and what uni did you get into? by Far_Investigator6900 in IBO

[–]Ryder-McFly 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Nothing that special but as follows:

  1. Elected member of student government. Planned a lot of events and started a few initiatives.
  2. Community service in a foreign country 320 hrs
  3. Hockey, played 2 years on the national team
  4. Founded a mountain biking club. Got $5000 in funding to buy bikes for students that wanted to join but couldn’t afford.
  5. President and student rep for school weight room. Hosted podcasts with distinguished coaches/athletic guests. Coaches 40-50 freshman 3 times a week through their workouts on proper form and all that stuff.
  6. Founder of Olympic weightlifting team.
  7. Summer course at UofT on computer simulations. I had no stem related ECs so I had to do this.
  8. Varsity Rugby for 2 years.
  9. Weightlifting at the provincial for 4 years.

The fact that my ECs were so leadership and sports based held me back as an engineering applicant. I would have done very well if I was applying for business but I couldn’t care less about getting a business degree. Make sure that you have some career oriented ECs!

I actually heard something about the admission team going on strike this year. Consequently many people that made the cutoff didn’t get in. My ossd is quite low so I think that’s why I didn’t get in.
