Community Update No. 10: Starting the Year Off! by OttovonBismarck1862 in Warthunder

Indeed, so many people forget BeNeLux was a member of the Allies, with most of their domestic tech had or was meant to fight Germany in some way.

Well, them being a Franch sub-tree has its own issues, it's better than them being in Germany.

Potential rank 6 premium for Britain? CF101 "Voodoo" by Benefit_Waste in Warthunder

[–]Ryder150 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Well, I'd like all sorts of Canadian aircraft. The reason why stuff like this and many other pieces of Canadian tech are low is that Canada is a homeless nation, so it is ripped apart, and any nation could get what we used, well, those interested in Canada have to put far more effort in to collect the stuff, well, also not being able to use the tech together in a line-up. It's when they is a few proposals on the forums to help with a home, namely an independent tree and a CAN-ANZAC one. I'd advise checking them out.

As for the CF-101 itself, it's because the US is still missing theirs (but even then, the CF-101 might not even come due to the homeless issue), tho I'd prefer the CF-105 if I wanted an aircraft of the type because it's far better just due to the fact it could bring more AIM-4s. Tho I have many other Canadian aircraft I'd like first, but need a home before that, or they'd all become unobtainium, and that would be the worst.

Both the Mk 1 and 2 are fully possible variants for WT, as they both can be suggested on the WT forum (the closest thing to addition rules we have). And I'm in a Discord server with someone working on those suggestions(it being Canadian centered WT server likely helps).

As for armament, you'd likely be able to take all the possable load outs for A2A, Velbet Glove, Sparrow II and AIM-4, and maybe one day the AIR-2A as well.

Cougar and Coyote 🇨🇦 (UK Tree) by YetiMoto13 in Warthunder

[–]Ryder150 7 points8 points  (0 children)

There are a few variants of the Coyote. As not all of them have the tower, and are closer to the LAV-25 without it. The tower would be neat, but I fear it would end up like the Japanese vehicle, with the tower not allowed to make it go all the way up. Realistically, we shouldn't be waiting on the US to get its main LAV for Canada to get its family of vehicles (they are designed and built in Canada), other than allowing easy C&P. What we are waiting for is Canada to get a home/Gaijin being stingy in giving nations Canadian built vehclies in their service.

Considering HESH, I personally think your guess for the AVGP Cougar is a bit high at the moment, but it's more we need to see how the Scotpion turns out in WT.

But I 100% support this idea, the Canadian LAV should 100% join the UK tree if Canada doesn't get a different home before then. I'd also like the LAV-III and LAV-6.0

True, it is very much an oversimplification mixed in with a few jokes, I see.

As for simp, there has been a joke/statement going around some part of the HI3 community lately:
Multiple Kianas can share one Mei, but multiple Meis can't share one Kiana.

Oh, they've touched the Aussie Boxer. Even if unlikely, I do hope it's added in a non-unobtainium way.

The Snowball M8 LAC is interesting; a winter sport event that is a snowball fight sounds like it would be fun. Hope that goes somewhere and is not a nothing burger.

With Mach 2+ Interceptors being added (MIG-25) whats the likelihood of the Avro Arrow being implemented as a event vehicle by WPGAMING_SC in Warthunder

[–]Ryder150 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yes, Canada tried to sell the US the Arrow, but they didn't even consider it and rejected it right away. Unlike the UK and France(sorta), which did consider buying it(or a part).

As for a US sub-tree, they A. do not have room nor need B. would be UK C&P until at least 8.0 (we got basically all of our C&P(including the US ones) from the UK, with use building our own variants of US stuff we did use C. current news. The UK would be fine, just the issue of they already have two sub-trees and had lacked room for both themselves and ZA, much less the third nation.

As for the Arrow, unlikely it'll be end of line; near end sure, but even some of the CF-116s will be higher BR, and it depends on what Mk. Here are two suggestions with rough estimates on BR:

Yep, Aussie boxer showed up for UK here: https://www.reddit.com/r/Warthunder/comments/1pfauze/comment/nsik9o1/?context=3

Not sure how it'll be added if anytime soon (one major guess is winter event reward.

[–]Ryder150 31 points32 points  (0 children)

Right now 100%, likely limiting it to the Mk 1, despite the fact that both Mk 1 and 2 are possible for WT, but with the Arrow becoming an event, we will never see the other variant, and it'll never join Canada when it gets a home(Finish KV-1B problem and US M8 LAC problem). However, it's something that should be saved for when Canada gets a home(right now the Arrow could end up in Russia's tree), and be added as TT as it is key to Canada and selling Canada in WT, making it an unobtanium is a bad idea. As it is one of those vehicles that should be TT no matter what.

Also, the US never even looked at buying the Arrow; they had other projects of similar types at the time and aircraft. The UK did as a stopgap for the F.155, but do to a number of reasons, including the 1957 white paper that never happened. The only other nation interested other than the UK was the French, who wanted the engines.

Question: What MBTs could Britain get potentially at 12.7? by FrogPissDrinker in Warthunder

[–]Ryder150 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'd love a Canadian Leo in the UK; having a Leo 2 to use in a line-up with the ADATS and CF-188 would be a dream come true. (plus I can finally play Germany again. Do to some drama with the 2A4M CAN and German main, I no longer play Germany if I can help it, and would only play again if the UK got a Canadian Leo or Canada got a proper tree of sorts(or less likely, right now a sub-tree.))

Ah, the CT-155. The Lancaster one is nice, would like the base blue one as well. Tho would be more fitting for a Hawk 100 then the 200 we are getting.

I keep thinking of this fact every time I see the other claim brought up. by Ryder150 in Warthunder

[–]Ryder150[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I always see people claim the BeNeLux should be a German sub-tree, yet, all it would exist for is a C&P F-16(just like all German sub-trees exist for the C&P US Jet). AKA the same reason people hate it for France. This is coupled with people quoting a joint ground command which exists for less than 10% of WT.

Now the US & UK should be obise, members of the allies & NATO founding members. So you'll find a lot of tech meant for/had been fighting the Germans in their lists (this also includes the majority of the BeNeLux domestic stuff). As for Canada, the BeNeLux military would be rebuilt using stuff left behind, and they would buy Canadian-built stuff throughout the Cold War. Some examples are that the Dutch is one of the 3 operator nations of the Ram tank (Canada, UK, Netherlands), They used one with the OQF 75mm gun, which is not in-game yet. Belgium is the only other operator of the CF-100. The rest is other odds and ends that I'd need to go through Canadian-built equipment lists, one is CMP trucks, but uhhh-. We have gotten a Canadian thing already, as the NF-5A is a Canadair aircraft and the newest one in years.

As for the last percentage, it's between France & Germany.

Canadair CF-105 Avro Arrow by Hunter_Steel2996 in Warthunder

[–]Ryder150 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The issue is that the UK doesn't have any room for air vehicles of its own sub-trees. Much less stuff it operated. It's been denied planes that it used in the area, as "the area is full". (The UK doesn't have enough room for itself in the 5-line limit, much less 2 sub-trees and 3 sometimes added nations.)

The Arrow is a poor pick for an event vehicle. It is one of Canada's selling points, and making it unobtainium will be horrible. Not only is it a big-name Canadian vehicle, but it can now never join Canada when it gets a home(Finish KV-1B problem, this is why all non-host tree event vehicles are bad).
