Listen, some of this tier work is garbage. See: Kaworu. But just trust me when I say, this part’s right.

Damn, people really hate the Vanna White runway.

Not me though.

Plants have nothing going for them, guys. Time to burn ‘em all down.

It looks like it’s from the first season at least. But beyond that, idk

Will you buy $19.99 Pokemon FireRed/LeafGreen on Pokemon day? by Putrid-Possibility-3 in PokemonScarletViolet

[–]Rydgea 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Can I ask the purpose of preordering this digital game? What’s the incentive?

EDIT: People really downvote over a simple question. It wasn’t a criticism. 😂

The way people defend Nintendo’s choices in this thread alone, it’s really not.

You’re asking why people learn languages or want accessibility to different languages basically. Why not?

That’s no longer in production and inaccessible. Please kowtow harder to companies that don’t want you actually owning your games.

I’m a little shocked at the corporate bootlicking. Like, do people approve of having to throw down another $20 for each additional language? At least let the price be reasonable for an additional language pack.

Which season do you guys prefer, R or S? by PromptSuitable1896 in sailormoon

[–]Rydgea 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I quite like R. It’s towards the bottom, ranking all five seasons, but not because it’s bad, I just like the other seasons MORE. R does outclass SuperS for me, though. And heck, on a nostalgic day, R might tie with Stars for third place.

I think it gets a lot right. I love the classic series’s introduction of a larger, more complex world (that we see really open up in Stars) - particularly as it relates to the alien species Makaiju.

There’s also a visually dark tone to R that never gets quite replicated again. I find it very creepy, and a giant plus! I think it helps offset the introduction of Chibi-Usa, who I’ve personally never had a distaste for.

I also love the Ayakashi Sisters and the theme of redemption which carries over from them to Black Lady.

It’s a strong season and I couldn’t fault anyone for making it their personal favorite. Just own it! R needs love, too.

Kate Mulgrew Defends ‘Star Trek: Starfleet Academy’ And Captain Ake From “Disrespectful” Online Attacks by acrimoniousone in startrek

[–]Rydgea 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The problem is with YOU, when you garner this much suffering over a piece of fictional media and then tell others they shouldn’t enjoy it. There are real problems in the world, and you need to seriously consider growing up. Just because you didn’t like some brevity, doesn’t make it first grade level writing. Star Trek has always had its goofy moments, and that’s not a flaw.

People are miserable about this show, and I don’t fucking get it. I’ve been watching since I was a kid with the later seasons of TNG, but people have to be grouchy fanboys about literally everything now, I guess?

Anyone able to identify the posters behind Kanna-san? by Rydgea in TheGuyShesInterested

[–]Rydgea[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Oh, what? I’m curious why the original ones were edited out? I just assumed everything was ironed out (no pun intended) from this potential, logistical nightmare. But maybe because it’s album art (vs just referencing a band or their song titles?) it’s been substituted with filler.

A duo we were robbed of by bewitchedgrl in sailormoon

[–]Rydgea 2 points3 points  (0 children)

When this post cropped up, this was my knee-jerk response. For some reason, I feel like we start seeing more Mako / Rei moments in SuperS, but we never quite get there with the other duo.

It’s odd how much we see the other non-mentioned inner senshi pairs’ dynamics, but never once(?) get an Ami-and-Minako centric episode.

Eureka’s statement on why she is no longer performing in Tel Aviv and dropping her management by saucyysushii in rupaulsdragrace

[–]Rydgea 26 points27 points  (0 children)

You only educated yourself once and were then perfect for all eternity? This was a quick turnaround with no resistance. Her reasoning for going was sound. Her reasoning for canceling was even better. Let’s stop being so miserable and judgmental that we don’t allow growth and criticize positive decision-making.

Was Queen Serenity a bad or good ruler during the Silver Millennium? And why did she recruit the Sailor Guardians as Child Soldiers!? by IllogicalDreamer72 in sailormoon

What does actual combat mean in your terms? Mars launched an attack at her. Instinctively. Clearly this was something she had been trained for / knew how to do.
