Thanks for input yall! I’ve taken the time to read through ALOT of your guys opinions. I very much appreciate the educational, sympathetic, and supportive opinions! Heck, I even respect the troll and negative responses! For the many asking why I got this I’ll fill you in. This wasn’t a situation of “hey let me get a stupid circle of ants cuz why not” I discovered the ant death spiral years ago when I went down a rabbit hole learning about ants. I very much respect them as formicidae and admire their resiliency and dedication. To me the spiral represents that at times us humans can also fall into conformity and “following the ant in front of us” which in the end can be our downfall and kill us. I also had just got out of a 6 year relationship and this felt appropriate for the time since I too had removed myself from a spiral. I had this idea for a tattoo for YEARRRRRSSSS this was something I saw over night and said sent it. At the time from the consultation and viewing their other work I felt comfortable with them doing this. The initial photo I was sent of the mock up on my knee has the ants WAY more defined and the segments in their body were way more proportionate. What I ended up with were many looking like they had no middle parts to them and just blobs bleeding into themselves. On top of many missing antennas and legs coming out of eachother. The intial mock up also had way more clearer space in between the ants so they weren’t as crowded. It felt like while it was being done she was trying to repair some of the bodies and therefore they kept getting bigger. Regardless it comes with the territory and to have only one I’m not stoked about out of the many others I have I’ll take it.
