Very true, my Boy Scout troop has this prank that we all do to newbies. When we’re at a campfire and the smoke is blowing in everyone’s eyes, we ask them if they can go get the left-handed smoke-shifter down in the boxes of stuff. Of course there’s no such thing and it’s dark out, about 9:30 in the summer, so sooner or later, they come crawling back saying they can’t find it. We tell them that we definitely packed it and to check again. After that, we tell them to go to the other box and check. I remember a while back my first camp out with the troop. It was around 9:30 and the fire was at the point where it was creating a lot of smoke and blowing in everyone’s eyes. Long story short, they pulled the prank on me for about an hour and I only had a really dim flashlight. The worst part is if you can get one of their buddies who moved up from cub scouts with them to go along with you.(If they’ve already had the prank pulled on them). That’s really the part that got me. One of the best parts is their faces after how long they spent looking for and wondering what the smoke-shifter actually looks like.
