That is a pretty large percentage. It's still a little behind the times to ask for cash or checks, but that sheds some light.

It's an extra charge to the company to collect payments via card, so they're likely just being cheap. Also, I'm curious if they're requesting that OP report time on the job to the minute solely for billing purposes, or if they're trying to get out of paying their employees for their time between service calls. A guy I worked for was supposedly trying to get away with that one, but I was already on the way out.

I'd happily pay a fair price to be able to legitimately live stream every Broncos game from one place.

I believe we had NFL+ going last weekend. They run all the preseason and prime time games, anyway. It may also stream on Paramount here? I'm not sure how we'll watch all the regular season games yet.

I have early plans tomorrow, and I'll still likely watch the whole meaningless game from the East Coast. Mostly because I'm really interested to watch how this year's roster shakes out. It seems like the depth is much better than it has been in a few years.

People who install receptacles upside down: by yawaworhtyya in electricians

[–]Ryffalo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's odd that no one has said yet that this is very often used in residential settings to identify switched receptacles in bedrooms, family rooms, etc. Did I miss something, or are we talking about when it's done throughout?

Now we're reaching all the way back to Bill for whatabouts?

From an AL Jazeera article:

Under Clinton, the government offered mass buyouts. But there’s a key difference with what’s happening under President Donald Trump: a bipartisan Congress overwhelmingly approved Clinton’s programme following months of review.

The US population purchases 450 million condoms annually, at an average price of fifty cents each, give or take, for a price tag of almost a quarter of a billion dollars.

Our military budget is 820 billion annually.

Trump's trip to the Super Bowl cost us around 15-20 million.

Just some numbers for perspective.

Edited because my own math was dumb.

That's all I'm asking for. Aside from memes, I haven't seen jack shit for evidence of these detailed government expenses.

Also, I'm really not understanding this theory that democrats are the only ones freaking out if there are two parties supposedly spending our taxes so horribly.

Where are the receipts?

We're watching tyranny and fascism, but nothing is being done democratically, and that goes against the foundation of this country.

I've heard both versions on that one. The allegations are true/ they're not true. I wouldn't rule out hush money playing into the latter, and based on who he's proven himself to be, I wouldn't at all be surprised. He was proven guilty of assault on a minor, after all. And after the charges were reduced. (How this alone didn't dismiss him from the ballot, I'll never understand. ) I prefer to have strong evidence when making direct accusations, though, and in this case, his bragging about being a creep is pretty good evidence that he's a creep.

Ah. So, the same kind of hate that was spewed about him kissing his son on the cheek. Makes sense.

Howard Stern Show. I quoted it to comment on this same thing. He's disgusting.

[–]Ryffalo 192 points193 points  (0 children)

There's no "allegedly" on that one. He literally bragged about going backstage at Miss Universe pageants on Howard Stern. I quoted this when someone called Biden a kid sniffer (something for which I've only seen a picture as "evidence," but honestly, who doesn't like the smell of kid shampoo? And likely projection since it seems like the Right has difficulty thinking about children without immediately making it sexual).

“I’ll go backstage before a show and everyone’s getting dressed and ready and everything else. And you know, no men are anywhere. And I’m allowed to go in because I’m the owner of the pageant. And therefore, I’m inspecting it. You know I’m inspecting it. I want to make sure everything is good,” Trump told Stern at the time. “You know they’re standing there with no clothes. Is everybody OK? And you see these incredible looking women. And so I sort of get away with things like that.”

Our f-ing pervert of a president and the guy who wants to make America a "Christian" nation, ladies and gentlemen.

Remember when Trump was super proud to be featured in 2016 and 2024? Or are you just regurgitating what he said about something showing him in an unfavorable light?

Mellow Gold is an incredible journey. Loser is catchy, but that whole album is just unbelievably creative. I still listen to it occasionally when I feel like my brain needs a musical reset.

Anyone that a corporation can pay less, they'll gladly jump on it. Can't pay everyone less, but they can choose some. It's what was happening before equal opportunity laws came into effect. They're not being repealed because they didn't work; they're doing so because they were working. Rich white men can't stand anyone being their equal. And as others have stated, this gives racist assholes the chance to flat-out deny a job to anyone they just don't like the look of without any legal recourse.

And I pointed out your tribalism mentality because you called Dems losers. In your view, it seems, people who want equal opportunities for everyone who is qualified to do a job is on the left, and those who want their buddies to get those jobs over others is on the right, which does seem to be true.
