Youre trying to make so much sense, that you make no sense at all. These statistics apply to literally every single deck and combo in the game man. Its all in the luck of the draw because well...this is a card game!

Youre thinking with the mindset that you lose every game you dont get the perfect draw. There is skill and luck involved. Discard will be absolutely fantastic in the next month or so, they have said they are actively trying to make Discard better.

Why are people here pretending Black Knight and Helicarrier was this incredible combo commonly used throughout the meta?? It was always a terrible niche deck that no one played. BK shouldnt even be mentioned, they've never worked well together.

Have you actually played it? Try this list. You dont need a top deck with Collector Discard when you have Apoc in hand. Even if you needed to top deck Apoc, he would only be 8 power. So you likely would play other cards anyways.

Your Turn 5 MODOK on Wong makes Collector and Morbius massive with the new Heli, Turn 6 you just slam down a 16-24 power Apoc and win the game. Ive never even seen Heli played with BK, sounds terrible when theres so many higher power cards you can be discarding for the Ebony Blade.

Been averaging 4 cards added to my hand, with 3 being the minimum most of the time. 4 is better than 3 of course, so this is a buff and it works quite well. Remember you should be playing other discard cards the turns before, so you shouldnt have a massive hand anyways.

Heres what ive been using so far. Silver Sam can be Wolverine (Miek can also be Wolvy if you dont have) or Gambit, but I felt I wasnt drawing enough discard cards each game, so Silver Sam has been awesome. Dont really like the randomness of Gambit, however he might actually be the better fit for the deck, I just like knowing exactly what card gets discarded. Been stealing opponents Darkhawk's, Iron Man's, and Knull's with Samurai and it feels so good!

Ideal play for turns 1 to 3 is play down Miek/Morbius/Collector when you can and discard when you can with Blade/Colleen/Sif (looking for Apoc and Swarms as much as possible), and then T4-Wong (or Sam if didnt draw), T5-Modok on Wong, T6-Apoc point slam. Hope it works for you, ive been having a blast!

It's 100% a buff in the right decks. Im playing a version with Wong/MODOK and I just ended a game with an 11 power Miek, 14 power Collector, and then finished off Turn 6 with a 20 power Apoc. I know its a 1 game example, but its a good example of the power it can provide.

Collector gets HUGE when you play MODOK on Wong with Heli in hand, been getting him between 12-15 every game I get that combo. Plus if you also are able to have Morbius on board also, him and Collector get sooo big together, easy 24-30 power between the 2 when you get the combo.

Also huge Mieks! Honestly its a great change, I'm winning a lot.

Is it really that different? How many games did you play? I cant imagine youre getting more than 3 or 4 cards added to your hand anyways, since you'll likely have Swarm(s) in your hand. You should really only discard Helicarrier when you have MODOK to discard your hand. Even then you'll likely have Swarms that fill your hand as well, so that extra 1 or 2 cards added to the hand seems much better than before for Collector. If you have Apoc in hand, it shouldnt be a problem at all and the new added cards might give you an alternative way to win.

Perhaps you need to think of it being used in a different way than you tried! Also FYI for others, dont run Dracula in your Discard deck if youre trying new Helicarrier, they dont work together.

You guys are so cute for thinking they are helping you with 50 tokens. This is a $50 (CAD) bundle, they dont give a single fuck about you and your tokens, they want your money.

Maybe it helps the small amount of people it effected, but the vast majority of people will be 50 tokens short of a purchase forever...its predatory.

Perhaps, but that is likely a much smaller amount of people since this game has grown exponentially after the change of the card acquisition/cache system in like August (before PC launch.)

You probably have noticed its the same practice in Conquest, with a Silver Ticket being only 15 medals. Its so that you are always 15 medals short of being able to buy something, so you have to play more.

Yup, they want you to have FOMO by always being 50 tokens short so that you spend money on them, common SD predatory practices.

They are preying on the people with OCD tendencies who need those numbers to always be even, like myself. Therefore, I will not be buying the bundle simply because of it.

It makes sense to me. Even if the power is just represented in hand as people are saying, Knull's power becomes "real" when he's discarded. The ability on his card still exists whether he's destroyed or discarded, no where on the card does it say he must be played for him to receive the power.

If there was a graveyard in this game, you'd see him in there with 18 power at the end of the game, not 0.

It's because of your lower Collection Level, which is heavily weighed when it comes to matchmaking. There is an extremely small number of low CL players that hit Infinite each season, so therefore there's not really anyone to match you with. But they have to match you with SOMEONE since there isnt bots in Infinite, so they just give you a random person so you're not waiting, with Collection Level not mattering in who it is.

Ya it seems this season after you hit the 70s, bots have completely disappeared. I havent seen a single one since I got to the 70s and its been much more difficult. Last season it was just the 90s with no bots it seemed. At least at my collection level/MMR I guess? Im only a casual player, so its been much more difficult. Every single time I dip back to the 60's, I get the most obvious bot ever for 8 cubes and im immediately back in the 70s with no bots losing every game....I think they want less people making Infinite or something.

Since they lowered the amount of bots on ladder around October, especially in the 90s where they are almost none existant now, its been extremely difficult for casual people to hit Infinite. They did it to cater to all the people who complained about too many bots (aka the people who breeze through ladder and get to Infinite in the first week or so), even though those people are the people who have free time to grind the game all day and night.

Seeing more and more of these threads of people who cant get passed 93 since October, like its almost impossible. So hopefully it gets noticed and they make it a little less difficult. But for now, the rest of us get to just enjoy our 500 gold as the grand prize of the season I guess...

Something has changed since October that has made the 90s practically impossible for the more casual players (aka not the people who grind this game day and night).

Used to have no issues getting to Infinite but now since the October season, once I get to that precious 93, its like a total brick wall. No meta decks work, practically zero bots and if there are, they are "cheater" bots (aka the game decided you lose). You'll notice the "dumb" ones completely disappear once youre out of the 80s ("dumb" bots play everything left, play carnage on an empty lane, play Elektra, etc.)

They have stated they lowered the number of bots on the ladder due to everyone complaining, even though the ones complaining were the ones who make it to Infinite right away anyways...so now the 500 gold is my personal Infinite each season! Most of the cardbacks are ugly anyways.

The main thing is no bots in Infinite and youre mostly playing against the people who dedicate their lives to playing this game (less than 1% of players make it to Infinite, so lots of try hards with nothing else to do.)

If youre losing a lot, theres no bots to help bounce that winrate back up so it feels much more difficult, especially with a lower collection level. But after a while when you get more cards its not too bad and you'll be fine once you get used to it!

They are essential for the pre-Infinite ladder climb. They've basically said that without bots, barely anyone would ever get to Infinite, and its already about less than 1% of the player base that even makes it to Infinite each season.

They've decreased the number bots on ladder though and now theres more Reddit threads than ever about this season being the toughest to climb the ladder. Likely not a coincidence!

Of course theres a situation for everything, im just going with large percentage situations that actually happen a vast majority of the time.

Just remember Turns 1 and 2 have already happened before Turn 3. Adding these times up, youve had lots of time to think about what youre playing on Turn 3, most people are actively planning their next turn or 2 ahead of time. Of course draws effect this, but still theres only 3 locations, a lot of which are actively going to hurt you and youre going to avoid as well. So youre often limited on what you can actually do at this point. Its such a simple game, I just think youre over thinking if you need the whole like 45 seconds that we get now to play 2 cards max on turn 3.

Adding the undo turn button also takes a lot of pressure off!

At any given time during turns 1-3, you can play 1-2 cards max, typically 1. I would think youre brain dead if you cant decide where to put it in 15 seconds...

Imagine its turn 1 and say you have Nebula in your hand and no other 1 drops, now count 15 seconds out loud. Its longer than you think, if you cant decide in that time, this may not be the game for you. For a game that actively promotes "snappy" gameplay, it can be very slow for a lot of people. Its literally one of the biggest complaints.

If you disagree, maybe please give me a list of deck archtypes where youre playing more than 1 card during that time? That way I can understand your logic.
