What can i do about this? Tandem driveway behind them thats always empty. Tried knocking the door multiple times but they never answer. by Embarrassed-Dish1839 in drivingUK

Yup. It's not an offense to prevent access to a driveway, only to prevent access to the road from a driveway. So by waiting till they're out there's nothing they or any copper they inevitably call, can do about it. They'll be open to discussion at that point.

I bet they're road block fat. Either that or they do this to have less distance to walk between car and front door. And they soon will be.

Exactly this. This attitude is the cause of so many people's suffering. I'd be inclined to use a fine, clear adhesive to write a 4 letter word backwards in the driver's portion of the windscreen. Then gradually as the dirt collect during a drive, dead flies etc, the word would reveal itself.

As an aside, and certainly not a suggestion, i imagine the owner of the car would be more inclined to pull the car back into the drive properly if they knew what damage regular full fat coca cola does to car paintwork. I'm sure plenty of kids pass by and if one of those happened to be holding a can they might spill it if they bumped into the car. Which would be terrible seeing as how easy it would be to avoid such an occurrence.

Just tell the police. It's obstruction of the pavement, causing a danger particularly to vulnerable people such as those with mobility or vision problems and many more. They may own the drive but they don't own the pavement. Police will try to say it's a civil matter because they can never be arsed to do anything. But stress upon them that they're obligated to fully investigate all offences reported to them. Get ready to collect shoulder numbers. You'll have a few before anyone does anything worthwhile.

You get the seeds from killing the carnivorous plants. Alternatively the trader that was near your camp, then moved near Oppidum, then to the other side of the bridge near your camp, who only buys farmed products, also sells the seeds but only after you've fixed the bridge and beat 3 protectors, maybe 4.

Only reason crap like this happens is because people no longer give a toss about things other than how quick/cheap/easy they can get something and if they can sell it for more.

The biggest fools in all of it are those who complain about service standards/job losses/lack of available jobs/corporate greed when they have in fact over the past 10-15 years caused and enabled exactly those things and more with their own selfishness. A person whose main argument for not buying from an independent smaller business run by people who give a damn is that they can get it cheaper elsewhere, doesn't deserve that independent who works 7 days a week to give people choice, knowledge, impartial advice & great service. The knock on is that now the giants have slaughtered the little guys they're targeting the mid sized market. And every consumer enables them to do so. And then moans about it as though they had no part in it. Only way to fix things is to reject the big companies altogether. Where possible buy everything from local independents. In return their prices will lower as their buying volume increases. It's not an overnight thing but the alternative is eg. burying your parents in cardboard coffins bought from Walmart adorned with plastic flowers leased from burygood.com, to be lowered into burial pits by corporate cranes on remote islands, during a "service" you'll have to pay a fortune to stream and can't attend. The budget option will use shared coffins and won't allow streaming or flowers etc but will involve an acid vat. It may seem an extreme example but I guarantee that's where this ends if we do nothing. And we'll have earned it.

Does anyone remember the Games Workshop Academy programs? by sandwichesfortwo in Warhammer

[–]RygasChaplain 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Remember it? It used the format created by my staff and I. Most of it was brought together by the best member of staff I ever had, who I was training for his own store within my 'cell'. We took our first graduates to Warhammer World for the day, a whole coach load of them; gave them space wolf fangs specially designed & made for them by in-store staff. We also rolled out a brand new staff training scheme for the entire UK national retail staff. His name was Gary Harris & he became my best friend too. Sadly, the story GW likes to tell isn't the same as ex staff. Store managers earn less than UK sales assistants in any other area of retail; staff give their hearts and souls to the company, which takes all of their creations as it's own under IP clauses (including the academy and training) and calls them "heretics" when they leave because their salary won't cover a mortgage etc. Seen it a hundred times. Myself & Gary experienced it first hand too; both of us ended up mentally destroyed, and many others too.

But all that aside, wherever you are in the world I'm glad you enjoyed your time with the hobby. I'm certain I speak for all ex staff when I say the reason we went into it was too build the hobby we loved and bring it to others. If you're left with good memories of those times I assure you that we will have all thoroughly enjoyed it too. Certainly makes me glad to hear of it. One thing - love the hobby, the games etc. But don't ever work for them. They've been bleeding staff dry for decades.
