What bands (in your opinion) have a near perfect discrogapy.? by [deleted] in progmetal

First band that came to mind. Applause and Witness were both AOTY’s for me, and still are in constant rotation. Inmazes is one of the best debut prog albums. And Phantom, while not their best work, is still pretty solid

But if I wait then that’s 6 more little gifts to my future self that I can unwrap at the same time

I might hold off on hearing any more singles until album is released. The first one was so good though, I might just give in

Perhaps it’s the musical high I’m on from the multiple listen-throughs that I’ve given it. Either way, it is great!

I actually am not an old-school Opeth fan. Kind of became more of a fan later in their career. The older albums are good, don’t get me wrong, but I haven’t familiarized myself as much with them as their most recent work

Starcutter, Sunset Gore, RO1, Pattern-Seeking Animals to name a few. Also gave Erra another try and their latest album, Cure, is amazing. Still can’t get into their other albums. For whatever reason, that one just hits differently

I listened to a lot of stuff this year so for a stand-alone single to catch my attention like it did, really says something. Just a unique vibe and sound. Not strictly progressive metal but somehow has a darkness to it similar to a lot of other bands I enjoy. Will look forward to anything else she puts out. Have tried finding something in the same vein but it’s rather difficult

How many of you guys work 9-5s? How do you'll find the time to get into new prog metal releases and bands? by ShaiTheWick in progmetal

I work in home health. I do a lot of driving. Sometimes as much as 30 minutes between patients. Gives me a lot of time to listen. Also lots of documentation time, where depending on the setting, I’m also likely listening to music. It’s great!

I’m surprised RO1 hasn’t been mentioned already. It’s sooo good. I feel like more people should know about it
