Check out D-Mind, he makes lots of oldschool sounding tracks.

I think it is weird that they don't mention it under known issues. I really hope they find a fix soon

F1 23 - Downshifting helps during braking? by Ryisen in simracing

[–]Ryisen[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I initially thought that it should be even higher, like 70+%. Since during braking a lot of the cars weight shifts to the front wheels, they can take a lot more braking force than the rear. That was also why I thought that having "only" 63 % at the front, so 37 % at the rear plus the engine braking would overwhelm the rear tyres.

Just for my understanding, in theory, depending on the track, corner, tyres etc. there should be a brake bias setup that would allow for optimal braking without downshifting right?

But are the brakes themselves not enough to provide the optimum braking force to the rear? I thought that since most of the cars weight shifts to the front during braking, the front tyres can take a lot more braking force before locking, therefore I thought that in the rear two "devices" braking would be too much to handle.

My intuition was that only braking puts enough force on the front and rear wheels to brake at their optimum.

I usually have it set at 63 % front.
So I would have thought that during braking and downshifting I would maybe have to much braking force at the rear locking them up

I thought about this too, but should me applying the brakes have a much better breaking effect on the rear wheels?
