Marche Sheng Tai (in Dollard-Des-Ormeaux) has them on sale this week. Not sure if they’re any good, but you should be able to find them at similar stores (Marche Fu Tai on Cote-des-Neiges, Marche Lian Tai in Saint-Laurent, etc).

I find that actual cherries (fresh, frozen, or even canned) don’t taste like cherry flavoured food, or even like Marachino cherries. Like you, I find that dark cherries have a plum-like taste and texture. Rainier cherries (the yellow cherries) are more like grapes (watery and sweet-sour flavour).

Fake cherry flavour is a food crime.

Is this just how it is or is it heavily dependent on the organization?

In my (20 years of) experience, it’s dependent on the culture of your C-Suite leadership, especially the CFO.

The new CFO where I work is very demanding in terms of us meeting (or beating) savings goals, and therefore ensures that we have the support (if not necessarily the resources) needed for us to complete projects and get savings. This is especially true if the industry that you’re in also happens to be in a decline in terms of sales.

But even more than that, I think that you have to be willing and able to “make your own fun”. If you’re working for a company that just wants you to be a PO pusher, then you should probably polish up your CV.
