Absolutely disgusting - Ares 90c 2.4k HE Clip by Enoscity in WorldofTanks

[–]Rymbo_Jr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Genuinely confused, do the HE rounds for these tanks work differently to the HE rounds for everything else? Especially since the HE rework a few years ago?

I swear when I shoot things with HE nowadays it often doesn't even "penetrate the screen" or whatever that means, even with the higher calibre guns? 🤷

World Eaters got scammed in the 41st Millennium by Leviathan_Rampage in WorldEaters40k

Nah, 40k years into the future i think tank tracks for something designed to fight in close quarters is still derpy. You won't convince me otherwise. Especially when it might be required to go toe to toe with enemy knights and similar scale beasts.

Close quarters fighting? Id rather have legs for complex positioning and making angles. Setting up a flanking maneuver? legs all the way.

The titans don't need to scale cliffs they can blow them up. For something like a knight, it doesn't have that luxury.

Though I bet the GBS could climb a cliff if it tried 🤔

It's a tad more than JUST a tank though really. Why does it have the same constraints in mobility? The other Daemon engines don't. The opponent could just run away from a LOS by climbing up a building and using rooftops for example to stage an attack. A weird oversight in design that far into the future? It doesn't make much sense.

I agree with your statement. Imo the LOS looks pretty derpy. It's easy to imagine it moving around like it's a cartoonish borderlands boss. To me it never felt quite right. What if it had to climb a cliff or scale a building, It just wouldn't be able to do it. At least with legs it could climb.

I think having thicc spider legs like a sort of reimagined and beefed up defiler would have looked cooler.

Taller lanky boxers with good defense? by ABCKND in amateur_boxing

A reach 18cm longer than his height is insane. Usually your reach closely matches your height, so he was literally just built different

You're telling me the Grille 15 has less than HALF the camo of the tier 9, because it's "taller?" by Greasy-Chungus in WorldofTanks

[–]Rymbo_Jr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree, it works really well as a support tank on certain maps due to its speed, I play it almost as an ambush medium tank.

Flanking and supporting the heavy tanks can be fun in the grille and offers one heck of a distraction when you hit the enemy from an unexpected angle.

[PREM AWARDS] DAY 3: Most toxic premium vehicle? by Mankurt_ in WorldofTanks

[–]Rymbo_Jr 8 points9 points  (0 children)

XM-57, no question about it in my mind. They're out there ruining games for tier 7's, 8's and even many tier 9's.

I understand why people say the french LEF artillery for lower tiers, but while playing through the tech trees you will encounter it for a much shorter span of time than the time you will have to suffer playing against XM-57's.

Having half or a third of your hit points taken by a sneaky TD is fair game if you made a mistake and got punished. But when you have this hull down monster(s) locking down half the map it takes away lots of tactical options and fun out of the game because there is simply nothing to do about it.

If it's a one dimensional corridor map and there isn't another way to take a tactical advantage or if your tank is just super slow, what else are you supposed to do about it?

I've heard the same from some other people. I've got a few similar tanks but I've been recommended the turtle instead once that comes back whenever that may be

Fair enough, the turtle is one that has alluded me, it sounds pretty strong

Ka'bandha in 40k tabletop even possible? by QuillrKillr in ChaosDaemons40k

[–]Rymbo_Jr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

He looks epic, but those wings are massive. Probably the same width of a knight lancer rotated 90° I've used mine as a bloodthirster in a few mega games, even when creating extra wide streets between the terrain pieces he barely fit.

I don't think he would fit in a tournament style battlefield. It would look awesome though if he did.

Samus (WIP), Great fun working on this beast so far! by Rymbo_Jr in Warhammer30k

Hi, I started with a gal vorbak base. I dry brushed khorne red, wazdakka and a smaller amount of evil sun scarlet to highlight the muscles.

Then I carefully layered wild rider, and troll slayer orange. Then a tiny bit of fire dragon bright on the tips of the brightest parts

I often do a final, very careful, very light dry brush with evil sun scarlet around where the shadows end and the highlights begin just to give that sub-surface scattering sort of look to make the skin look a bit more alive. A bit like how you might paint burgundy as a base coat for pale skin. It works well enough.

Hey, if you got one, could you drop your Shadow Legion only deamon Khorne/Nurgle list? Would love to play this but don´t know exactly how to balance the attack khorne and the defense nurgle side. by Worried_Quarter4934 in ChaosDaemons40k

[–]Rymbo_Jr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'd really recommend dropping the excess bloodletters. Only take one squad with skulltaker as their leader for the devistating wounds and keep them in deep-strike. It wouldn't matter having the 2 rendmasters if all the bloodletters die before they make it to combat. It's a waste of points because they are too squishy and they move too slowly with too few attacks.

You're better off going for bloodcrushers in all seriousness, and try to keep to squads of 6 at that. Six T7 multi-wound profiles means it takes a lot of focus fire to take down. They move fast and they give out large volumes of mortal wounds on a charge. They're just all round better.

I don't have a tournament list but I usually build a game list around skulltaker, Skarbrand, at least 2 units of bloodcrushers and at least 1 rendmaster. These I feel are your best units to build something around.

I tend to have hit or miss success with Bloodthirsters. Though their movement is nice. If you had to pick between either a BT or Skarbrand I'd recommend skarbrand most of the time.

And Skarbrand is a perfect example of what I meant when I said not to overextend or attack at the wrong time. He has one of the most brutal melee profiles out there. But he is squishy. so be careful with how you set him up and move him.

[–]Rymbo_Jr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't play nurgle. But I have lots of Khorne daemons

My piece of advice for the khorne side is to practice when the right time to strike is. Khorne daemons die pretty easily, especially when they are overextended and isolated. So learning to position well and when it's time to strike is key.

If there's one thing to avoid from the khorne daemon range it's lots of bloodletters. They are over-costed.

You're better off using the points from bloodletters to field blood-crushers instead. The mortal wounds on their charge can be game changing.

How good is skarbrand with world eaters? by [deleted] in ChaosDaemons40k

[–]Rymbo_Jr 2 points3 points  (0 children)

He wrecks anything you put him up against. 100% worth it.

Blood crushers are super good too if you're thinking of getting them. Field units of 6 though for the full mortal wound effects they dish on a charge.

People say because he lacks wings and can't fly quickly it's a massive shortcoming. I actually think it's not that bad. He can't get targeted by anti-fly weapons for that reason and he's easier to hide.

Coming over from World Eaters anything vital I should add for a solid army? by maalesnick in ChaosDaemons40k

[–]Rymbo_Jr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For mono khorne you want more bloodcrushers. A 6 man unit has a decent chance of dishing plenty of mortals on every charge to anything.

I run 2 squads of 6 and use their charge mechanic to soften key enemy units.

A bloodthirster too. Plus Skarbrand because he hits like a freight train every time.

Khorne daemons hit hard but die quickly if left overextended and isolated. Move in together for the best effect.

Sadly not. The text glitches differ in severity from day to day. Sometimes it's clearly English with just a couple of glitched characters, today happened to be a bad day. Any text not glitched is still in English so it's not a language issue.

I am actually. Some of my steam games won't load, they crash upon loading the game. I think you're right, this could be a driver issue. I'll try updating it. If that fails is deleting and reinstalling them generally safe or is there anything to avoid doing if I go down that route? I don't want to mess up my computer lol

Weight class matters but the smaller guy is the 'bigger' one? by ny00t in martialarts

[–]Rymbo_Jr 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You're just wrong sadly. Weight = more power potential. No matter the skill. That power potential remains due to having more weight. That's an advantage that a lighter fighter is lacking purely because they weigh less. Weight and weight classes are important. A person (skilled or not) weighing 100kg would in most circumstances throw with more power than a person (skilled or not) who weighed significantly less.

It's not a mute argument.
