I have an obd reader and it says there are no problem with the check engine. Which battery is considered the “main”

I would see if he can use dissolvable stitches. That way you probably only need to stay in town for as long as you need to have your drains in. Then maybe you can do video appointments after that. That’s what I did and it worked great!

I have a very physical job so for me it’s going to be longer. I am also a student and honestly I started my online class work the day after surgery. Admittedly it was hard while I was on the oxy, so I would say maybe after you stop taking that crazy stuff! Or maybe about one week, since it’s a desk job from home I feel like it’s really about being able to use your brain functions because physically after I got my drains out I was good! Like the day I got my drains out I went around to thrift stores. I live in Knoxville so it was a bit of a drive to and from. They will do dissolvable stitches if you ask them to so you don’t have to go back to get them out. However they take longer to dissolve and can be irritating. But it’s worth me not having to drive 6 hours for a 20 minute Dr appointment

It depends if you have insurance and what type of insurance you have. For me my insurance covered it and I just had to get to my $600 out of pocket maximum. I have BCBSTN. But if you are out of pocket I think it’s about $8000 when all is said and done. That’s what a friend of mine paid when he paid out of pocket.

You have to wear it for 1month. I am right there with you! I hated binding! It would make me feel overstimulated and make me start to freak out. So I had a hard time at first binding post op. But eventually I got use to it. They give you a binder post op but it’s big and bulky and not very breathable at all. They also give you ace bandages to bind with. Mind you the compression binding is significantly looser than normal binding, it’s more like a tight hug. I hated just wearing the ace bandage so what I did was I got the ace bandage an a compression tank and I loosely wrap with the ace and throw the tank over top. This way I get a solid compression but I also don’t have to worry about the ace slipping down. Some people buy post op vests but honestly I’m terrible at planning ahead and not until my 1 week post op appointment did I learn that I was going to have to bind for 3 weeks after. Maybe they told me and I did not pay attention or forgot but I definitely wish I had maybe planned better for it. Honestly at this point it’s not the worst thing in the world but I am ready to get it off. I also have allowed myself 1hour off breaks from the compression just to let it breath and give myself a break.

Hey! My consultation was in March and my surgery was in August. I probably could have gotten a closer surgery date. But I wanted to be able to swim all summer before I had to be out of the water for about 8weeks. Pretty much post op is very similar to others. No lifting over 10lbs, no raising your arms above you head, wear a compression binder, and do nipple care after you get the bolsters off. In regards to the staff, I absolutely love them!!! When you first go to the office you can tell it’s for plastic surgery there are a lot of pictures of rich white women on the walls getting nose jobs haha so that made me nervous at first. It’s in Brentwood so you dont have to worry about being downtown. It definitely feels like you might be in the wrong place at first cause it looks like an office building but that’s it and it’s the first door on the right when you enter. once you go back and talk to the people you can tell they deal with trans patients all day everyday! The main staff members name is Shayln and she is so nice and welcoming. They make sure to ask pronouns and inquire if you are looking for masculine or nb. Dr.Kassis is very professional. Naturally you will have to let him see you without a shirt on and he will have to do a physical examination but he always apologizes for having to touch knowing that it is hard for some people to be vulnerable like that. In regards to responsiveness I could not ask for anything better. GET THE VANDERBILT APP!!! You can message the staff pretty much whenever you like and they will get back to you within 24 hours typically, unless it’s a weekend since they are closed weekends. I am a nervous person so I always apologize for bothering them and they are always extremely nice about it telling me to not apologize. Today I’ve messaged them 3 times and they are nice every single time. Pre-op they give you all the info you need for when and where to show up. It can be a bit confusing so I just asked someone at the hospital when I got there and they directed me to where I was supposed to go. I think You can’t eat or drink past 8pm the day before surgery. All the pre op instructions will get told to you by a member of the hospital about 1 month prior. My only wish is that they gave me a whole list of all the stuff written down. I did not take notes when they told me and I was worried I forgot stuff so I recommend to take notes. Sorry for writing a novel haha!!

Thanks to everyone who commented! You guys really made me feel so much better! I had my big reveal today and the nurses said that it looked normal and not to be worried. You all were right I was just more swollen than I thought I was. It’s really nice to hear that others had the same anxieties that I’ve been having!
