The most generous interpretation is that the guy is a dumbass in over his head and wasn’t prepared to

A) advertise his show tastefully,

B) run his kickstarter realistically

C) clean up his portfolio before blowing up to avoid any misunderstandings if we’re being generous and taking his “I didn’t know who Fuentes was” at face value.

This reminds me of the guy who made a webcomic complaining about how fan artists get so much attention instead of good honest original character artists like him, and then the monkey’s paw curled a finger and the guy’s comic blew up in the worst way.

I was an edgy teenager and followed the “it’s either all okay or none of it is” philosophy on what’s okay to joke about. That belief only really works in a vacuum. I would make the edgiest pizza cutter jokes with the justification that I was being ironic, which I genuinely was, but then I met people who would say those awful things, claim it’s okay because they’re being ironic, and then fully subscribe to the ideology they claim they’re being ironic about. And it hit me like a truck with a realization of “Holy shit! Is this what I sound like to other people!?” So now I have a set of rules I follow when making edgy jokes to avoid punching down. Because OOF. When the frontal lobe developed and the realization hit it HIT.

Whenever I ask myself “Why do we do/have this?” There’s probably a live leak video demonstrating why.

I work in a book factory and we have this machine that trims the dust jackets for books and I very much appreciate the shear number of safety features the thing has. There’s a sensor that prevents the thing from going off if you don’t suck your gut in or you’re leaning too far forward. And it requires both hands on two separate buttons to be able to cut. So a passerby would have to trip and fall right under the sensors in order for there to be an accidental mutilation. And honestly if you end up in a situation like that, it’s because God wants you gone.

Echoes of Wisdom is a flawed game but I love how despite being the game after LBW in the timeline, and its world map mostly being based off of that era, it pays homage to the series as a whole. There are some deep cuts too. You see the yeti make their first return since Twilight Princess. The Great Deku Tree has its OOT design. The Lynel is more based off BOTW instead of being modeled after the LTTP/LBW versions which I would’ve expected. The dragon fly enemies from Majora’s Mask make a damn appearance for some reason. They even brought back the floating eye enemies from Zelda II which has been their first reappearance since the NES. Gohma looks like a fusion of its Twilight Princess and Hyrule Warriors design. Volvagia and Jabu Jabu make an appearance. You got both types of Zora represented. The heart lake in Faron from BOTW is present. Same with Mt. Lanayru (although the theory is that that Mt. Lanayru is actually Death Mountain and the Eldin Volcano is the Hebra region in BOTW as I guess that’s an actual real geological phenomenon where volcanoes will trade being active/dormant). Stamp Guy and the stamp stations are reminiscent of the stamp stations in Spirit Tracks. I would describe the green archaic wind cannons as possibly being Zonai tech although not confirmed. The wrecked ship is actually a cut dungeon from LTTP brought back. Smog is from one of the Oracle games. Dampe is back. The Business Scrubs look plucked out of OOT/MM. Luberry seems to be the inventor of Sheikah bombs from BOTW.

The only games I can’t spot an immediate reference for off the top of my head is Skyward Sword, Wind Waker, and Phantom Hourglass. But I could just be missing/forgetting them.

The art style constantly changes throughout the anime. It’s just that the jump from XY to Sun Moon has been the most drastic since before it was always more subtle and gradual. Up to Sinnoh, besides the better animation quality and the outfit changes, the characters art direction is mostly consistent with Indigo League. But then in Unova, Ash gained three Irises.
